Corny but heartfelt

Stormy Daniels' fondness for traditional Hollywood movies is clear once again in the old-fashioned "Heart Strings", a romance I first saw on Pay-Cable (in soft-X version) and released in an integral version by Wicked Pictures -latter reviewed here.

Michael Vegas gives a winning performance as a country music star who's tired of exhaustive touring, so heads off on his own, against the wishes of his sexy taskmaster of a manager, India Summer.

When his truck breaks down, he gets a ride and a place to stay from friendly Gracie Glam, who then tries to fix him up with her lovelorn sister, Brooklyn Lee, here styled as a redhead. Brooklyn's character was summarily dumped right after the opening credits by her boyfriend Seth Gamble, who wants his freedom when he returns in the fall to college.

Love slowly blossoms between Brooklyn and Vegas on the family ranch, inherited by the sisters from their late dad. When not strumming daddy's guitar and singing one of his hits (the sisters remain unaware of his fame or music as a key plot point), Vegas manages to break a pesky white horse named Max (played by an animal actor named Danger Mouse), winning Brooklyn's heart.

Stormy has a fondness for horses and movies themed around them, notable in her recent success titled "Unbridled". Similarly, she cast her estranged husband Brendon Miller as the drummer in Vegas's band, not unlike his real-life profession in the music world.

Ensemble cast, including Bill Bailey as Vegas's brother and keyboard player, does a fine job acting, and the oft-told story still works, even though one would hope Stormy would add more freshness (or novelty) to her plots.
