I absolutely loved the humor of this film, sharp witty and intelligent without being condescending. I also found it to be thematically rich exploring simultaneously themes of grief, romance and the importance of art in Namibia. The cinematography was breathtaking at times, and while not all actors shone on screen most of them really did - the standouts being the male protest dancer and the farmer love interest.
I do think the film could've benefited from a little more romance between the two live interests and perhaps their bond could've been paced better, it seemed to go from zero to hundred really quick, which made the ending feel kind of contrived. The grn inspector turned medium arc was also really strange - almost comical, and perhaps it was meant to be.
I do applaud the writer, director, cast and crew for putting together an all around crowd pleaser of a movie and hope my comments are seen in the context of my gratitude that queer stories are being told at all! Congrats to the team and we hope to see more of your work!!!!
