• Optimus Prime : [Opening lines]  And it was written in the Covenant of Primus, that when the 47 spheres align, a perpetual conflict with culminate upon a world forged by chaos. And the weak shall perish in the shadow of a rising darkness.

  Arcee : No sky is raining fire?

  Ratchet : Goes without saying, it is a doom prophesy after all.

  Bulkhead : I say it's a load of hooey.

  Ratchet : I always assumed the ancients were referring to our home planet. But being that Cybertron has been dark for eons...

  Optimus Prime : And considering what has befallen this planet since Megatron's arrival here...

  Bulkhead : Wow, wow, wow... we've known about these superstitions for ages and never gave them a second thought.

  Arcee : Why all the ominous rumbling now?

  Optimus Prime : Because the planetary alignment to which the prophesy refers is nearly upon us.

  Ratchet : And it would seem it's end point... is Earth.

  Bulkhead : Uhh... crazy coincidence! Heh... R-right?

  Arcee : How long are we talking?

  Ratchet : A few days, at most.

  Optimus Prime : However unsettling this revelation may be, I am more concerned about those who might believe that the prophesy speaks to them alone.

• Optimus Prime : Ratchet, how is Rafael?

  Ratchet : It is too soon to know.

  Optimus Prime : He's in good hands.

  Ratchet : Not mine, Optimus. Curse my Cybertronian pride! We've accepted these humans into our lives yet I bothered to learn soo little of their science... or medicine.

  Optimus Prime : Pull yourself together, old friend. Rafael needs you.

  Ratchet : And I have grown to need him.

• Megatron : [arriving at the army base]  Optimus.

  Optimus Prime : Megatron, do you not see the folly in trying to force a prophecy to fruition?

  Megatron : Why leave matters to fate if one can forge one's own destiny? Ah, speaking of fate...

  [Optimus and the others turn around to see Bumblebee walking toward them, carrying a wounded Raf. Optimus's eyes widen with shock when he sees Raf] 

  Arcee : Raf!

  [she gently picks him up] 

  Arcee : He's breathing. Barely.

  Megatron : Ah, it would seem I've swatted a bee and squashed a bug.

  [Bumblebee shakes in anger and deploys his blasters] 

  Bulkhead : Bee, no!

  [restrains him. Optimus looks back at Megatron, who gives off a smirk] 

  Optimus Prime : Ratchet, bridge us back now!

  Ratchet : [at the base]  We must have an Autobot down.

• Arcee : Don't take it personally. Primes are built that way.

  Bulkhead : Never seen Optimus laugh, cry, or lose his cool.

  Ratchet : While Optimus certainly keeps his emotions in check, I've known him for far longer than any of you have. And he *was* different before he was made a Prime.

  Rafael 'Raf' Esquivel : Optimus wasn't always a Prime?

  Ratchet : On Cybertron, one isn't born into greatness, but rather one must earn it.

  Jack Darby : So, different how? We talking "party animal"?

  Ratchet : No, no. Optimus was more like... Jack.

  Jack Darby : What? I'm nothing like...

• Ratchet : UGH! Rafael isn't responding! We must run diagnostics of his assemblage- uh, vital statistics... Urgh, my tools! They're all wrong!

  Jack Darby : We need to call my Mom!

  [Jack grabs his cellphone] 

  Ratchet : Your mother may be a nurse, but does she know anything about the effects of Energon on the human body?

  Jack Darby : Wha, do *you* know anything about the human body?

  [Ratchet is silent] 

  Jack Darby : [On the phone]  Mom, it's urgent!

  Ratchet : "The weak will perish"... be strong, Rafael.

• Ratchet : [contacting Bumblebee]  Bumblebee, the team may require backup! They're three clicks north from your current position just off the highway. If you drop Raf at the exit ramp, I can bridge him back to base from there.

  [Bumblebee beeps disappointingly] 

  Rafael 'Raf' Esquivel : It's okay, Bee. We'll go racing another time.

  Megatron : [flying above in his jet mode]  Well, well. A foolish scout has strayed from the ranks.

  [he begins firing upon Bumblebee. Bumblebee dodges the first few blasts, but one blast hits him and sends him spiraling. He screeches to a halt as Megatron flies off. Bumblebee beeps worriedly as he looks back at where Raf was sitting. Raf's arm flops into view as ominous music plays] 

• Jack Darby : [seeing Arcee carrying Raf into the base]  Raf?

  Miko Nakadai : No!

  Ratchet : What happened?

  Arcee : Megatron.

  Ratchet : Quickly, into my laboratory!

• Ratchet : If Dark Energon is devouring Raf from the inside out, then we must expel it, and fast. The only possible way I know. I need Energon!

  June Darby : Wait, you said Energon was devastating to humans.

  Ratchet : Under normal circumstances, quite. But I am relying upon the dark matter currently invading Rafael's body to meet it head on.

• Ratchet : [preparing to expose Raf to Energon]  I need him over here now!

  [Jack and his mom wheel Raf into the chamber. Ratchet powers up the chamber. The Energon glows brightly, illuminating the entire room. When the glow subsides, the chamber door opens and the group runs in. Raf begins to stir] 

  June Darby : His pulse rate is stabilizing.

  Rafael 'Raf' Esquivel : [looks at Bumblebee; weakly]  Bee.

  [Bumblebee sighs in relief as does Ratchet. A relieved Miko then hugs Raf] 

  Ratchet : Optimus, we did it.
