Help is on its way

This continues the run of episodes from the start of Season 4 which are acceptable, lightweight, kid friendly fillers rather than top class Clone Wars drama. You cannot really complain as the show is intended for family audiences not mainly adults. However, these types of episodes are not my favourite.

Thankfully in a couple of episodes time things would return to great form when we get dark, serious themes, powerful storytelling and convincing worlds and characters. This one is just a harmless but uninspiring adventure for our beloved droids.

I always think they could make any 25 minute filler episode brilliant just be having lightsaber duels, space battles, shootouts and not much else. I find the child friendly fantasy episodes a little misguided as I reckon most kids who watch Star Wars would prefer exciting action. But saying that I should not be too grumpy about getting lightweight stuff like this in an animation aimed mainly at the kids.

It is not a thrilling episode at all and I do not personally enjoy most of the humour in this episode but it is not awful, it is harmless and pleasant.

I give credit for nice animation. I give credit for C3PO and R2D2's endearing personalities. I give credit for an effort to show wider universe around the war. I give credit for showing care for the little people struggling in the war torn galaxy.

Underwhelming but inoffensive child friendly filler.

My rating: 6/10.

Too many old farts watching this
splinters-493603 June 2021
Why do grown people watch this show and complain about it being too kiddy? Starwars is made for children. Yes, the dark, serious episodes are great... and there are plenty of them... but this show is not meant for 40 year olds! The nerve of an animated kids show making at least of few episodes for....gasp...kids! Go watch game of thrones or something if this is so beneath you.

This episode centers on the Droids..what did you expect? Light saber battles with many deaths? It is a lighthearted change of pace centering on two iconic characters. They also are the focus of another starwars story many people like. What's it called?? Oh yeah, a new hope...geez get a life.

Rug rats in space

Warning: Spoilers
R2 & C3PO , along with the clones are sent on a relief mission to planet that has encountered a earthquake.

The inhabitants are best described as "rug rats"

R2 & C3PO encounter some strange beings which have been causing the quakes.

Not a brilliant episode.

An unpopular opinion
calumgrieve18 December 2020
After seeing other very negative reviews I am writing my own to give a different standpoint. Others describe this episode as pointless and a time filler and it is, it has no input to the clone wars as a series however, the episode alone was very enjoyable. It discovers a new world and creatures, telling a simple but entertaining story. This is for me what makes star wars so great and magical unlike any other universe. I also enjoy the change in tone from previous and upcoming more serious and dark episodes, I think a fun episode like this does the series as a whole a lot of good. I enjoyed this episode and would give it a 8.5/10.

The creature design!

This gets a 10 for those Trees/ents alone. Fantastic designs. The visual of R2 and 3po falling down the pit was excellent fun. Very much a fairytale type of episode with a strong focus on our beloved droids.
