It's a bit soapy for me!
gfarasheva7 November 2022
It's one of those overly dramatic movies that are similar to soap operas, if you like them you'll like this movie! It was too dramatic for me. The idea (plot) of the movie can be developed more in order for it to be better. I loved the main cast, they were both cute, but I think it was the plot I didn't like. I expected more from the trailer. It's not bad, but it's not a great movie either. A MUCH better movie in a similar genre is "Kinky", starring Robert Ri'chard, go and watch that and you will see a difference! Also I liked "Kinky" better than "50 shades of Grey" which was horrible in my opinion!

Injustice

Warning: Spoilers
The story was going on well, till the male actor didn't report his friend for attempted rape and burglary. Even after they got recorded voice evidence. I don't know what the movie was portraying with this act. The criminal act of covering one's friend? Even the second friend too became aware and no police case? Then the boss was made aware and all she did was fire the culprit, not making the police aware. He didn't even let the lady know that he knew who was assaulted her.

She already was about to marry the new man. She didn't act uncertain. And the male actor had apologized numerous time. He comes to the wedding and says the exact same apology. And all of a sudden she goes saying "that's all you had to say." I don't know about that scenario as I am not a movie writer or producer but as a viewer it seems far fetched even for a fantasy.

Diet/Sugar Free/Lite "adult" material

Warning: Spoilers
I'm uncertain who the target market for this is? Porno minus the porn - it's strange. There's a whole Bill Hicks skit on this - I'm tempted to link it to fill out the character requirements - this film really isn't worth reviewing...

I think it's maybe the sort of thing where you're trying to introduce your partner to h/c but you don't want them to know what a seedy-horrible man you really are - and you stick it on in the hope they ask for something... actually pornographic, but just almost-porn.

Honestly, even as a teen-male, this wouldn't cut the mustard, or anything at all - it's gonna be "failure to land" - you know for anyone that has the internet.

"Does this contain spoilers?" - yes/no/maybe/no one cares because 5 minutes in you're headed to some kind of "hub" site.

Pacing and plot issues
upstate-138411 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Terrible story development and the pacing doesn't make much sense. Lead character is a creep who allows a friend to get away with an attempt sexual assault of the woman he's in love with. I guess he's supposed to be the "underdog."

The woman lead is better, but not by much. Both characters are unlikeable, so its hard to form a rooting interest in either.

The pacing is terrible, so with about 5 mins left you realize that they need to find a way to wrap the movie and get the two leads to end up together. The solution was an ending that essentially steals the Whitley and Dewayne Wayne wedding scene from A Different World season 5.

About Millennial journey from an African perspective
joykone4 January 2023
It was cool. It's nice to see Africans movies be represented in major platforms. I also enjoyed the storyline it was different. Just enjoy the film for what it is, especially if you are from the diaspora.

The film also represents when millennials go through loneliness and financial struggles other opportunities and outlets they need to do in order to keep their head above water.

I appreciated the main characters shy demeanor and wanting more out of his career and his lack of relationships in his live life. I am not sure what else to say to expand on the film but give BIPOC films a chance and watch it with an open mind and lens.
