I Made Better Movies in Middle School
kiamaemoore23 October 2022
I originally put this movie on as background while doing homework but I was often distracted by the sheer lack of quality. The acting was atrocious except for the gentleman plunging the toilet and the groundskeeper. I understand this was pretty much made to be campy and purposely awful but it missed the mark on humor and any jump scare factors. The execution on everything was below amateur. I can't imagine anyone who wasn't involved in this misguided ode to horror enjoying it.

It went past so-bad-it's-funny to so-bad-it's-just-bad.

Glad they had fun and all but it just missed every mark. Whatever they tried to achieve with the audience, I'm sure they didn't accomplish it.

This cars movie is lacklustre compared to its predecessors... Warning: Spoilers
"Cars 4" takes a misstep in the beloved animated franchise, failing to recapture the charm and magic of its predecessors. Despite its familiar title, this installment proves to be a disappointing addition to the series, leaving fans and newcomers alike questioning its purpose and relevance.

The story of "Cars 4" picks up after the events of the previous films, as Lightning McQueen and his friends find themselves facing a new set of challenges. However, what should have been an exciting and engaging continuation of their adventures turns out to be a lackluster and uninspired affair.

One of the major shortcomings of "Cars 4" lies in its storytelling. The plot feels contrived and formulaic, lacking the heart and originality that made the earlier films so memorable. The characters, once vibrant and endearing, now feel stale and one-dimensional, going through the motions without any significant growth or development. The dialogue lacks the wit and humor that characterized the previous movies, leaving the audience longing for the engaging banter that made the franchise enjoyable.

Furthermore, the animation, which was once a standout feature of the "Cars" series, feels unimpressive and dated in "Cars 4." The visuals lack the vibrant colors and attention to detail that brought the world of talking cars to life. It's disheartening to see a lack of innovation and visual progress, especially considering the advancements in animation technology since the release of the original film.

Another letdown in "Cars 4" is the absence of a compelling and engaging antagonist. The previous movies introduced memorable adversaries that added tension and excitement to the story. However, in this installment, the villain is forgettable and fails to pose a real threat to our beloved characters. The lack of a formidable antagonist further diminishes the stakes and leaves the audience yearning for a more captivating conflict.

Despite its flaws, "Cars 4" does retain some of the familiar elements that fans of the franchise have come to love. The voice cast, including Owen Wilson as Lightning McQueen, delivers their lines with the same enthusiasm and charm as before. The film also manages to provide a few moments of nostalgic nostalgia, invoking a sense of nostalgia for the earlier films in the series.

In conclusion, "Cars 4" falls short of expectations, failing to capture the spirit and excitement of the previous films. The lackluster storytelling, dated animation, and absence of a compelling antagonist contribute to an underwhelming and forgettable experience. While it may still appeal to die-hard fans of the franchise, most viewers will find themselves longing for the magic that made the original "Cars" movie so special.

Low budget, high entertainment...

HALLOWEEN JACK 3D (2022) is bringing old-school 3D shocks back and with a sweet, sweet, sweet dash of British humour.

There's plenty on offer here for horror fans with nods to the classics, including the opening credits and score of 'Friday the 13th Part III' being homaged. The running time is swift at 64mins and it's easy to be taken away with the events on screen.

I watched the feature in anaglyph 3D, where there was solid depth and some ghosting from time-to-time (mainly when the credits appear) but this small issue can be overlooked because overall the effect works.

There is a love for the genre on show here and now all I have to say is - bring on the 8+ sequels.
