Great film by great director
utpal-6110930 May 2016
First of all i want to thank Mr. Jahnu Barua for giving us such a great movie. He is already well known director in India. He mainly works in Assamese film industry of India and achieved many national awards for his great works such as "Haldhia Saraie Bao-Dhan Khai", "Aparopa", "Sagaraloi Bahu Dur" etc.

Baandhon means relationship, the relationship between in our family. One boy who have no parents but only grandfather and grandmother went to study at Mumbai from Guwahati. Dandeswar and Hkawni both come to the city, guwahati to live in their son's home after his death with their grandson from village. They have only one Sakar(servant) and only two known person Jatin and Ranjana (husband and wife) in the city. Story goes on. But in 26/11/2008 terror attack is happened in Mumbai and they have not get any calls from their son. They become helpless and with the help of Jatin they goes to Mumbai to search their son. What happened in next...u should watch the movie.

It is the great movie by Jahnu Barua. Visualization of the story is so realistic. Again Bishnu Khargharia have done his best on the role of grandfather. Others also doing their best. Again in direction, Jahnu ji has proved that he is the master of film-maker. Watch it to know what film is. It is available in Youtube with English subtitle.

Warning: Spoilers
I had the privilege of watching this film from Jahnu Baruah which had already won the National Awards for best feature film in Assamese. Coming straight to the point, i want to tell you all that the film is a sheer masterpiece. The performance, direction, editing, cinematography everything is awesome. The film has such global appeal that it can be watched by anyone living in any part of the world and he can easily connect with the theme of the film. The climax of the film is its highlight and even though i didn't want to spoil the fun, but the clear cut message which this film gives us is that "We are common people. The world is too big for us. We have no choice but to trust in it" . Thats awesome .. Isn't it?

so, i would recommend this film to one and all!

A good film with strong dramatization
WorldMovie9931 October 2022
Baandhon means the 'tying up', is an Assamese drama which symbolically uses the word to mean, tying the knot of married life, which is unbreakable unto the last breadth, about staying together through thick and thin.

The storyline is about a couple who quarrels on silly things and decide to seperate. That decision is shattered when they discovers a shocking truth, again reunited for life. The movie have a similar plotline with that of Mahesh Bhatts 1980s Saaransh, which is a masterpiece. The story revolves around adjustment of an old couple with the realities of life.

Baandhon is similar to Saaransh except with a small difference. Baandhon is heavily dramatized, feels a little left out of master flavour generally observed in Jahnu Baruah's narratives. Baandhon lacks J. Baruah's master touch unlike 'Xagaroloi bohut dur'. The performances are unrealistic and not convincing, esp the supporting casts. But Bishnu Khargoria is the bright point in performance, he still gave his best, a natural flow of emotions as an Assamese adult, living a frustrating rural life. Jatin Baruah is average as the lawyer, with a minor role not much imply significance. The serenity is retained in narration, calmly progresses, throughout. It stands as a good film in general that helps to understand the reality of human relations. It has both it's share of brilliancy and flaws, For all these issues I would give a 70 on a scale of 100.

Awesome

Warning: Spoilers
The whole movie presented in such a cute and heart touching way; I must say hats off Mr Jahnu Baruah. Every single detail was given utmost importance to produce a movie; a state of the art not only in Assamese movie industry but also in the global scenario. The unnecessary shots were discarded in many occasions, thus giving the viewer ample amount of space to think about it and make a judgement all by himself. The actors too were great and Mr Khargharia was the best among all. His romance, act of grief, everything were so just awesome that I fail not to appreciate him in every movie and every discrete act. Also, a must watch !
