The season-opening two-parter compelled me to express concern about an unwelcome subplot, and the hope that the series would resume placing its primary focus on the sleuthing, and continue sprinkling celebrities of yore into the season's mix.
Wish granted. Viewer grateful.
The Brackenreid and Kipling badinage was a delight. Same for George's interactions with his authors. All those plot threads included amusing and gratifying callbacks to events from previous seasons. And the detecting needed to figure out why the gent left on the floor had been so suddenly removed from the ranks of the breathing was well-crafted, with a couple of nice twists. Thank you.
As I'm doing this, there are only two other reviews on this page; both are all about the authors presented IN the tale. I thought the writers OF this week's mystery earned some ink, as well.
