I'm not overly familiar with Filipino movies and TV, and drama isn't really my thing, but I agreed to watch this one with my wife.
It is slow paced, but I can see why Baron is considered a good actor, he has a charisma in this movie that makes him likeable, and even somewhat relatable.
I'm not sure how closely the movie follows a real life story, but I don't think it was as predicable as other reviewers suggest, at least not when compared with Hollywood dramas. Of course there are scenes that can be predicted, but some of the foreshadowing didn't fit with what I had anticipated, such as when Yumi told Tito to apologize, and what may have transpired at the cemetery.
The movie could have ended in one of two different ways, even with the opening scene, and they opted for a sad ending, which was a bit disappointing, it could have been a tear-jerker both ways.
All in all, it was worth the watch, give it a go and don't dwell on reviewer's opinions too much.
