A Hidden Masterpiece
joshelzner10 January 2023
This is a film that is easily passed over among all the "big hits" in the industry, and yet it is perhaps the most beautiful and moving film that I have ever encountered. The screenplay, script, cinematography, and acting are all presented such that one feels as if one is reading a poem, or listening to a symphony, as if one is deeply involved in a mystery that is radiantly beautiful. The whole movie is indeed deeply poetic, and it becomes a very transparent reflection of the passion that so obviously burned in the hearts of the producers and actors.

My recommendation: watch it with a quiet heart, and as one would watch, not an action-packed or fantasy-driven drama of today, but as one would read a short story, or watch a stage production in the theater. In this respect, it has a radiance, a realness, that far surpasses the mock realness of the blockbusters which have all the bills, but don't have the heart. This one has the heart, and the truth, and indeed the beauty, and in my opinion this makes everything else glow. And in fact, even the cinematography and screenplay are top-notch, and it makes for an engrossing, heart-tugging story from beginning to end, as long as the viewer is willing to open the door of the heart a little, or at least to peek through its crack and to let a voice sound from the outside, seeking to enter into conversation.
