Suspense and intrigue

"A Devil's Game" is full of suspense and intrigue with a story that kept me watching. At first, the line between good guy and bad guy is blurred as you're trying to figure out which players play for which side, but there are certain characters that stand out as villains that you love to hate. Throw in some girl power and you have a good thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Sickeningly bad

Here's the big tip-off, right in the credits; it's made by a company called Little Jeremy Productions, the producer is Jeremy Ansdorfer, and the star is one Jeremy Ansdorfer. Now, I suppose it could be another "Rocky". Ummmm, no. It's just another piece of crap made on a shoestring, with no appeal to anyone but a 14-year old wannabe gangbanger. I watched 20 minutes of it before my stomach started telling me it couldn't take any more without heaving. The "acting", such as it is, is a few steps below what you'd see in a high school drama class. When "Julia" completely breaks down in tears after seeing a completely unlikeable British teen she's only just met 5 minutes earlier get thrown into the back of a van driven by her boyfriend's business partner, without any idea of what 's going on, the lack of anything resembling talent was made crystal clear. And that goes for everyone else in the cast. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that anyone giving this stinker any more than two stars is undoubtedly a friend or family member of Mr. Ansdorfer or one of the cast. Or maybe Mr. Ansdorfer himself, under an assumed name. Pay no attention whatsoever to the 7 rating on IMdb. This is one example of the perils inherent in watching movies Amazon gives you with Prime.

Sex trafficking indie thriller

Warning: Spoilers
A DEVIL'S GAME is a lame attempt to shoot a murky thriller on an indie budget. The story is about sex trafficking, a serious topic, not that you'd know by the level of ineptitude on display here. A quite laughable 'special forces' trained woman tries to save a teenager from being smuggled abroad, leading to a handful of lame action scenes and wooden acting all over the place. There's really no reason to switch on.

Super suspenseful;

I love films like these. Low-budget, raw, gritty, great story line. This thriller is amazing; I watched it literally on the edge of my seat the whole time. Written well, directed well. For what the cast and crew had to work I think they did a fine job. Even the character names. Bigg Boy, for example. Reminds me of how big boy decisions have big boy consequences. This movie is a not-so-gentle reminder of how easy it is to get caught up in A Devil's Game. Casting did a nice job in this film. Army Boy (Jeremy Andorfer-Lopez) and Bigg Boy (Will Leon) kill it! The chemistry between the characters is real and ever-present, and I hope they figure a way to bring everyone back for the sequel! One of the best low-budget films I've seen.
