In a similar manner than the shorts done by Aleksandr Petrov, the beauty of "MacPherson" can't be properly expressed with mere words: It is something which has to be seen in order to be fully appreciated, as every single frame from this brief but wonderful animation is an exquisite work of art,having a delicate lyricism incredibly rare to find in these time.
For me, it was marvelous and inspiring experience, which perfectly shows that a simple (yet heartwarming) tale of friendship could become into a cinematic tone poem thanks to the paint-on-glass animation technique.
"MacPherson" is a outstanding work, worth of far more admiration and recognition, which confirms once again Martine Chartrand as one of the most talented (and sadly, one of the most underrated too) animators from our time.
I also recommend "Âme noire", another excellent animation done by the same director.
