I'll see this though, even though I'm tired of how cliched the whole thing is. It's your standard series of silent encounters where one person talks and the other just stares and doesn't say anything. This guy has big problems but something traumatic happened. He's unwilling to seek help (God knows why). He has a wife who is a borderline lunatic, a daughter who is pretty dumb (I don't care how mad she is at her mother, she wouldn't have let that kidnapper get away with what he did. She doesn't have the backbone). Then we have the blonde detective who is about as tiresome as one can be. She can barely talk, especially when her supervisor (who is racist and incompetent) is there. The acting is dreadful. And I guess at some point there will be some explanation as to what the underlying forces are. Anyway, I'm this far. Oh, I forgot to mention a policewoman who inadvertently harmed a child by breaking down a door (to save her). She is being investigated for her rash behavior.
