Too short
blockja14 January 2023
At 40 minutes, this episode feels so rushed. The queens this season are so talented and deserve the opportunity to showcase their talent, personality, and looks. However, with the runways being only a few seconds and many parts being cut, it does a great disservice to the performers and viewers alike. With 15 queens and 40 minutes, queens like Robin, Anetra, Marcia x3, and Salina are not even seen. I left the episode feeling discontent and even more unwilling to watch the best friends of weho that mtv is trying to push.

With that being said, the runways looks were great, the winner was right, and I am looking forward to seeing the queens this season. Hopefully future episodes are re-edited to be the same 1 hr as previous seasons.

MTV What have you done
ashleylightfoot-0213316 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I am severely disappointed, not with production, the queens, or anyone who was actually INVOLVED in making the show. But I am honestly furious at MTV for trying to manipulate us into watching some gay housewives stuff at the expense of one of the most popular LGBTQIA TV shows in the world, if not THE most popular. MTV clearly does not know anything about the show and who ever thought of reducing the episodes should be fired immediately.

Nonetheless, the episode wasn't horrible, they did their best with what they had. I do not have high hopes for this season until they reach a later point, where we might have some time to remember the queens. Several queens were literally non existent this episode for example. ANETRA: who literally won last week LUXX: who was in the top 3 this week SASHA: She had like no place in this episode and I was shocked when she won given the fact we hadn't seen her basically at all

There's probably others I'm forgetting, which further proves my point. MTV good job you have ruined the Number 1 platform for drag queens.

EXTEND THE EPISODES
dtlemons-4800915 January 2023
This episode is a perfect example of exactly what not to do with drag race. Whoever's idea it was to cast the most queens ever in a season and then cut nearly an hour out of the episodes for "the gays in weho" show should be fired IMMEDIATELY.

MTV acquired one of the most popular and critically acclaimed competition reality shows on television currently, and of all time, only to make stupid, viewer-seeking, and desperate decisions like this. The only reason I rated this a 6 is because the cast don't deserve to be review bombed for something they can't control. Production wise, I'd give this a 3/10. It really was too rushed, too sloppy, unengaging, and it's so frustrating because I can tell this season has the footage to be good, but because it's being cut, it will be a struggle bus.

MTV better fix this or it's only gonna get bad for them.

Meh.

Warning: Spoilers
Overall just an okay episode. The challenge concept wasn't my favorite. The challenge performances weren't amazing either (besides Sasha,Luxx and Loosey). I mostly agreed with the judge's critiques of the queens. I DO NOT agree with the lip sync results at all. Princess Poppy won that lip sync and should not have been sent home. However, I love watching the queens in the Werkroom. This cast is so vibrant and fun to watch. I'm hoping this was just a bump in the road for this season because the first 2 episodes were so good. I have a good feeling this is just one of those mediocre episodes every season has.

40 minutes of wasted potential
philbbuddy16 January 2023
Shortest/most rushed episode ever. Why would they ever think that cutting the runtime in half would be beneficial? It also sucks for the girls, because this cast is awesome. They also spend insane amounts of money on their runways only for the outfits to be shown for 3 seconds. Also on top of that we didn't even get to see deliberations, didn't get to see a walk through, no mini challenge, barely any rehersal time, the shortest judging ever, a wasted guest judge that got to say maybe 3 things? And on top of all of that some of the queens didn't even get confessional time. This was 40 minutes of wasted potential.

Warning: Spoilers
Despite being cut short, I still think the episode was solid. Producers showed that they are listening to criticism - they let the queens write the scripts, which saved viewers from having to watch another terribly written acting sketch. With that said, only Team Anetra had a good performance from all team members. The other two teams were really inconsistent. The standouts from the episode were definitely Sasha, Luxx and Loosey, with some great runways from some of the other queens. The runway being cut short was definitely the worst part from the episodes now being 40 minutes without the ads. It really feels rushed. Amethyst delivered a captivating performance in the lipsync and Princess Poppy was eliminated, finishing the story arc set up at the beginning of the episode. This episode was judged fairly, which I do appreciate. There is a lot of room for improvement (mostly making the episodes 60 minutes again) but I still think Drag Race is on a good path.

MTV's contracted runtime has butchered the show
jaz-bean16 January 2023
After the dazzling, dare i say best ever premiere event i was beyond excited to get into this season's journey. The level of disappointment to experience the massively hacked down 40 min episode - VISIBLY rushed, key segments done away with - is hard to describe. What a waste of amazing talent and full to the brim storylines i know WOW+ had prepared when filming and storyboarding. The wind has been taken out of my sails as a viewer, and what a huge disservice to the artists both in front of and behind the screen that were poised to - and DID - make a brilliant show that looks like half of will go unseen. Drag race isn't entertaining or appealing for rapidfire checking of boxes. Huge letdown, took the wind out of my sails, very depressing, faith needs restoring.

Great episode, bad editing

Warning: Spoilers
This week was really good, but MTV cutting the show down to 40-45 mins in favour of a terrible uneventful white gay guy version of Housewives really hinders the show. The biggest hit was to the runways, which were only 10 seconds this week. Other than that, the actual challenge was amazing and the queens did great. Glad that the mirror talks were left it, they're a very important staple of the show. Would've had there be a top 4 instead of a top 3, and the same for the bottoms, just because of how big the cast is. (Would've added Sugar to top, Spice to bottom). Very glad to see Sasha get one of the strongest wins the show has ever had this week. Go Sasha!

Runtime

The episode is too short and seemed extremely rushed, it felt like a review of an episode rather than an actual full-length episode.

No storyline, the challenge-regardless of how of how I feel about the acting challenges on Drag Race-was too short, the runway was 2 seconds and most queens didn't even get any screen-time.

This season has the most number of queens, yet the shortest episodes which is unfortunate and the point of the show is to showcase queens in a competitive environment but if this editing/episode-length continues, I'm sure neither will be achieved.

The issue has to be addressed soon, if Drag Race wants to maintain its viewership.

Severely disappointing and way too rushed
rochondominic14 January 2023
This episode coming off of such a great premiere was such a let-down. The challenge was not funny at all, and the episode itself was rushed to the extreme.

My favorite part of this series, the runways got cut insanely short, with every queen having only 2 seconds to showcase their outfits. The critiques were way too rushed; I barely grasped what the judges were saying and at the blink of an eye, a winner and a bottom 2 was chosen. Several contestants straight up were completely edited out of the episode.

Everything about this episode was rushed, it overall was simply not a enjoyable viewing experience.

Worst episode ever?
Jimmy-sunny15 January 2023
What was that? Everything felt extremely rushed and lifeless. I don't remember watching an episode of Drag Race with such a terrible editing, even when episodes were as short. Michelle sounded particularly mean and totally uninterested during the rehearsals (not a single constructive comment), the acting challenge was awfully boring and dumb (more than usual), the runaway happened in a minute, Ru looked like he wanted to be somewhere else... everything was garbage honestly. Nobody seemed to care. I feel sorry for the queens, especially since some of them showed great potential in the first episodes. None had the possibility to shine in this one. Let's hope the next episodes will be better.

Review of RPDR S15 EP3
lifesnotfairr14 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The pacing of this episode felt very bizarre to me, every single scene of it felt rushed and badly edited (specially the runway, they even cut Anetra's runway by half for some reason lmao) and i legitimately don't remember anything the queens did on the infomercials, except for some queens of the first group. I guess that's what happens when you cast too many queens on one season. Michelle's directing the queens also felt weird and generally not really helpful, but that section of the episode also felt so rushed so who knows what actually happened. Overral, it was just a very meh episode.......... I don't know how to feel about the bottom two, but i am sad to see Princess Poppy going home.

Rushed
roeark19 January 2023
This shorter run time is terrible. It's obviously chopped to bits and really reduces the substance and message of the show. They need to return to hour shows to give the number of contestants sufficient structure. It's just not the feeling the same at all and takes away for the experience. They might all well just skip the entire competition part and go straight to the runway. MTV can and should be doing better. I thought with Ru returning back to the network that it would result in a significant change for the better, but appears it's the opposite. It's just the contestants that suffer from the poor execution.

I was so short!
fabyosam14 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The only reason I gave 3 stars is because Sasha was amazing. Otherwise the episode felt really rushed. It was a big mistake to reduce it to 42 minutes. I blinked and it was over already.

The thing is, with 15 queens, I don't even remember some of them in the episode and it was really hard to sort of who was going to be in the top and in the bottom. Princess Poppy was in the bottom and I don't even remember what she did. Luxx is amazing but I don't really remember her part that well and Loosey just did an impersonation of Dolly Parton and got to the top. Felt rushed and confusing. At least Sasha was great and got the win.

Paramount is killing this show
kent-w-irwin16 January 2023
Damn the editing in that episode was crazy! If you looked away for one second during the runway you missed one or two queens looks. So horrible! Paramount is ruining this show-the crazy short episodes, switching networks/how to watch every single season is crazy like good luck maintaining viewership that way. At the very least have all episodes available to stream in the paramount+ app regardless of what network it first airs on...oh wait that is one of the worst apps ever...but at least it would be consistent. Bummer cause i really think this seasons cast is great overall (i mean Sasha Colby is a legend cmon). MTV/Paramount make this right!

Sooo Boring!!
PrincipeHex19 January 2023
This comedy chapter don't get the really gag to many fans expected.

In fact isn't comedy at all, pour characters and bad group working.

They lost a lot of potential to prove how work in real life like entertainers. Not embody charisma or extra talent and only can rescue the performance of the winner. Also in the runway I still waiting for more, we deserve more and by the Gods this season the cash price is huge.

That queens need apply all of they skills cause until now... they don't surprise me yet.

I totally sure the cast have great potential but isn't enough to be a memorable season. I think they reserve best to the end and that never work in this show cause sometimes the right moment to do the best is yesterday.

I feel disappointed 😑
