This short film is presented as a formal presentation on a study done into dreams by a man who predominately has dreams involving a squirrel giving him advice or interacting somehow with his subconscious. When the man learns that other people have a similar character in their dreams, he widens his study to find that many people do and the extent to which this dream character is around is greater than he expected.
This short is really two things – the delivery and the ending. The ending I will not ruin but it is a real kick and it ultimately does give the message that some things are best not picked to bits by scientific studies and logic but rather just left in the world of magic and half- reality. This ending works all the better because of the formal delivery of the majority of the film, which is engaging in its narration while basic computer animation delivers nicely crisp images which float around within this dream world. The two work well together and I enjoyed the short a great deal. Better to watch it knowing as little as possible and, as simple as it is, it works very well.
