The Super Bowl Lviii pre-game show featured Reba McEntire, Post Malone, and Andra Day taking the stage at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas before the Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Francisco 49ers game.
Day took the stage first to sing “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” known as the Black national anthem. The Golden Globe winner was joined by American Sign Language interpreter Shaheem Sánchez.
“It’s a hymn of triumph, and that’s what I want people to encounter when I sing this song,” Day told People ahead of the big game. “I want them to know that we have victory, and we have peace already… It feels like there’s an honor.”

Remembering the Majesty of Titanic The late ’90s gave us a film that went on to define not just a genre, but an entire generation. James Cameron’s ‘Titanic’ (1997) was a cinematic marvel that transcended the boundaries of storytelling and visual effects. With a budget that soared as high as its aspirations – $200 million, making it the most expensive film at the time – Titanic’s ambition was matched only by its monumental success. It wasn’t just the first film to surpass the $1 billion mark at the global box office; it also captured hearts, earning Cameron his first Golden...

The Golden Globe-winning star of The Holdovers on sparring with comedy greats, switching from opera to acting, and cooking as therapy
A graduate of the Yale School of Drama, Philadelphia-born actor Da’Vine Joy Randolph was nominated for a Tony award for her breakthrough performance in the 2012 Broadway stage production of Ghost: The Musical. Since then, she has worked in TV and film, starring opposite Eddie Murphy in Dolemite Is My Name and as Aunt Pooh in On the Come Up. Last week she won for best supporting actress award at the Golden Globes for her role in Alexander Payne’s bittersweet tragicomic three-hander, The Holdovers. She plays a recently bereaved mother and the longsuffering head cook at an elite New England boarding school in the 1970s, opposite Paul Giamatti’s curmudgeonly teacher, and newcomer Dominic Sessa as a troubled student.
When you were first approached by Alexander Payne, you didn’t know who he was.

The James Bond franchise revolutionized action cinema in the 1960s when it started with 1962’s Dr. No and stands to this day as one of the longest-running film series in history. From almost the very beginning, Bond movies strive to draw in their audiences with high-octane prologues that run before lush and stylishly rendered title sequences. These pre-title action scenes not only set the tone for the movie right out the gate but, in several instances, are the best sequences within their respective films.
This pre-title sequence tradition began with the franchise’s second movie, 1963’s From Russia with Love. Believe it or not, Dr. No does not actually contain a pre-title action scene and instead dives headfirst into its opening titles. These prologues highlight the classic elements of a spy who always served Her Majesty’s Secret Service faithfully. They also showcase how each of the actors playing Bond...

Oppenheimer will finally arrive on Peacock on Feb. 16., right smack dab in the middle of Oscar season. Oscar nominations come out Jan. 23.
The Christopher Nolan directed movie just won five Golden Globes including Best Director, Best Feature Drama, Best Actor Drama Cillian Murphy, Best Supporting Actor Robert Downey Jr, and Best Original Score for composer Ludwig Göransson.
At $952M, Oppenheimer was the third-highest grossing movie of 2023. That amount of box office is an anomaly for a 3-hour drama, specifically one about a physicist. Oppenheimer made $326M at the domestic box office, the fifth highest grossing movie of 2023.
Talk about a long-window here to Peacock. Don’t ever say they don’t exist. While Oppenheimer came out on DVD and digital on Nov. 21, its road from screen to Peacock was more than a six-month trek.
This weekend, Oppenheimer is up for 13 Critics Choice Awards nominations including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Acting Ensemble,...

ABC’s “Golden Wedding” showed a strong performance as fans gathered to watch the network’s first Golden bachelor, Gerry Turner, and Theresa Nist walk down the aisle.
The Thursday night broadcast reached an audience of 5.22 million total viewers and averaged a .63 rating among the key adults 18-49 demographic according to National Live+Same Day data from Nielsen. With the majority of the show’s viewership stemming from linear and streaming delayed-viewing, that number is likely to change with the release of multiplatform+7 day data which will become available at a later date.
In comparison, the season finale which aired on Nov. 30, managed to snag 6.1 million viewers, hitting a series high and making it the most-watched episode of any series in the “Bachelor” franchise since the conclusion of Matt James’ season in 2021.
Taking place at the La Quinta Resort and Club in La Quinta, Calif., the wedding was officiated by contestant Susan Noles.

Selena Gomez Shares A Passionate Moment With Benny Blanco Post Golden Globes 2024 But Gets Trolled By Haters(Photo Credit –Instagram)
Selena Gomez might not have won the Golden Globes 2024 for her performance in Only Murders in the Building, but she has won in real life being with her new boyfriend, Benny Blanco! At least that’s what she believes as she shared a steamy photo of her with Benny on her social media. Earlier, she went viral for her gossipy moment at the Awards ceremony, where she, Taylor Swift, and Keleigh Sperry were engrossed in a conversation caught on camera.
Selena and Benny’s relationship news broke out in December 2023, and since then, the Rare Beauty founder has been dropping pictures of her with the music producer. Before going official with Blanco, Sel was linked to Zayn Malik last year, and after several speculations, it turned out to be just rumors.

Leading up to the 2024 Golden Globes, May December was a frequent topic of discussion as observers wondered why the movie, about an actress shadowing a couple whose large age gap made tabloid headlines, was submitted as a comedy. Producer Will Ferrell, who delivered a memorable moment in his best actor presentation with Kristen Wiig, and star Natalie Portman even fielded questions about whether May December was a comedy on the Globes red carpet. But near the end of Sunday night’s awards ceremony, the question may have shifted to “Is May December going to win anything tonight?” The answer was no.
The Netflix movie went into the Globes up for four awards but went home empty-handed. It was perhaps most surprising that Charles Melton, who has been collecting a series of awards from critics groups lately for his performance in the film, lost best supporting actor, with that award going...

Hollywood’s hot labor summer (and fall) got a pointed mention at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards — one that came from the show’s writers.
Presenting the award for best motion picture screenplay, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse stars Daniel Kaluuya, Hailee Steinfeld and Shameik Moore performed a scripted bit to highlight the importance of writers to the filmmaking process. The Writers Guild of America was on strike for 148 days in 2023 before securing significant gains in a new contract with studios and streamers.
“To demonstrate the importance of writers and writing, we asked that this segment be written not by writers, but by studio executives,” Kaluuya said, before awkwardly asking, “What is up, Shameik?”
“Not much, Daniel,” Moore replied. “How are you, Hailee?”
Steinfeld: “I am … relatable. I am enjoy the Golden Globs. Do you agree?”

In his opening monologue, Golden Globes host Jo Koy quoted his mom’s saying about Meryl Streep: “She wins everything.”
With multi-Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Streep and Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham among the nominees in the stacked Female Actor in a Supporting Role on Television category, it is not surprising that Elizabeth Debicki looked stunned when her name was read as the winner.
She got the trophy for playing Diana on the sixth and final season of Netflix’s The Crown, which chronicles the late Princess’ final weeks before her tragic 1997 death.
“This is just astonishing to me,” Debicki said onstage. “Thank you to the creatives on the show for trusting me with this part, to the cast and crew, and to my beautiful pretend children who I just adore,” she said, referring to the young actors playing Prince William and Prince Harry on the British Royal family drama.

“Is it a foregone conclusion that ‘Succession’ will win?” wonders Gold Derby Editor Daniel Montgomery about the Golden Globe race for Best Drama Series. He discussed his predictions in all 12 TV categories with Editor Marcus James Dixon and Expert Tariq Khan. Listen to their slugfest below.
“I would say that ‘Succession’ being the phenomenon that it has been, it’s hard not to give it this big farewell hug, if you will. So that’s why I think it seems pretty safe,” argues Khan. It doesn’t hurt that the series earned a record nine nominations this year, more than any TV program has ever gotten in a single season. Dixon agrees that “Succession” “went out with a huge bang. Everyone loved it. I think it’s one of the easiest calls of the night.”

“By 2022, many people in management were aware of Gonzales’s egregious conduct and what he did to Plaintiff,” alleges a sexual assault suit filed yesterday by a current Disney employee against the Mouse House, its ex-vp Distribution Nolan Gonzales and various former Fox assets. “Plaintiff overheard a chairperson at Disney say that Gonzales was a pervert and that other women at the company felt the same way,” the jury trial seeking complaint bluntly adds.
“Even though individuals in management were aware of Gonzales’s conduct, they concealed their knowledge from human resources.”
The sexual assault, sexual battery, retaliation and seven other claims suit was filed on January 2 in LA Superior Court by a Jane Doe who is a near-decade-long staffer at Fox and now Disney. Detailing lurid alleged conduct by former executive Gonzales, the complaint spawns the one-time “supervisory level” employees almost entire duration at the now merged companies from 2014 onwards.

The team from HBO’s corporate drama “Succession” are going to be busy in January — for one week in particular. After being delayed by the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, the Primetime Emmys will finally be handed out on January 6, 7 and 15. The Golden Globes are January 7. And the Critics Choice Awards are January 14. Since the series is expected to win most of its nominations in top categories, its cast and crew may want to draft a few different acceptance speeches to keep things fresh. But could it win everything? At the Globes, it’s a distinct possibility.

Novak Djokovic has some big plans, like the Golden Calendar Slam in 2024, but the former world number 2 on the Atp Tour, Alex Corretja, doesn't see it.
The Golden Calendar Slam is probably the most impressive thing you can do in a tennis season, as it literally means winning everything important. Steffi Graff did it in the past by winning all four Grand Slams that year, including the Gold Medal at the Olympics, which tells you why it's so difficult.
Not only do you need to win all four Grand Slams, which rarely happens, but you also need to win the Gold Medal at the Olympic Games, and that's hardly an easy feat either.
Djokovic thinks he can do it in 2024, and it's a goal for him, but he understands that it's going to be pretty tough. Still, some things should give him confidence.

Robert Downey Jr. has quickly become the Oscars frontrunner for Best Supporting Actor for his transformative turn in Christopher Nolan‘s acclaimed biopic “Oppenheimer.” This Universal blockbuster chronicles how Cillian Murphy‘s titular scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer created the atomic bomb. Emily Blunt features as Oppenheimer’s wife, Kitty, while Downey Jr. portrays his political foe Lewis Strauss. Third time should prove to be the charm for this charmer. That got us thinking about his first two Oscar races.
Downey Jr. was first nominated in 1993 for Best Actor for “Chaplin.” Another biopic, he played the titular role of the cinematic legend Charlie Chaplin. Directed by Richard Attenborough, the film recounts Chaplin’s incredible life and career from his poverty-stricken childhood to his worldwide acclaim. Downey Jr. turned in a pitch-perfect performance, nailing the accent, mannerisms, and expressions of the great man and receiving acclaim of his own along the way.

With early snowfall in parts of the country and the forecast of a possible El Niño pattern, all signs are pointing to a vibrant winter on the slopes. “Ski season is revving up, and like most of the past busy seasons, we are seeing high bookings and low availability already,” Tiffany Layne, CEO of Lavon Private Luxury tells The Hollywood Reporter.
Thanks to the Ikon and Epic season passes, members will discover even more perks this year. “These large passes continue to find ways to add value and make skiing more approachable for their members,” says Melissa Biggs Bradley, founder and CEO of Indagare, the members-only luxury travel company. “That means updated lifts in many ski areas, new terrain, Michelin-awarded restaurants and enhanced mobile apps.”
Here’s the latest on what’s new in Colorado, Utah, Idaho and elsewhere in the mountain west, as well as international destinations in Europe and Japan.

“Succession” went full f—ing beast in a way no one anticipated during the Golden Globe nominations on Monday, scoring a record-breaking nine bids for its fourth and final season. It is, needless to say, the odds-on favorite to win Best Drama Series for a record-tying third time. While the show won’t stand alone in the record books in this category, it would have a wee bit of an edge over the current record-holders.
“The X-Files” and “Mad Men” are the only dramas with three series wins at the moment. The former triumphed on its first nomination in 1995 for the second half of its first season and the first half of its second. After not even getting nominated the following year, it returned to win in 1997 and 1998. “Mad Men” prevailed for its first three seasons from 2008-2010, making it the only one to win in three consecutive years. Barbie leads the nominations for the 29th annual Critics Choice Awards with 18, far outdistancing every other film, as the Warner Bros. living doll dominates the list with mentions for Best Picture, Director, Screenplay, and five acting noms, including stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling who received two each.

Jung Kook might be on the precipice of his mandatory military service, but the BTS singer has still released his new video for “Hate You,” a track off his recently released album Golden.

This holiday season’s release of Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving is cause for celebration amongst slasher fans. It’s been a hot minute since mainstream horror audiences have been able to watch a wide-release slasher that feels gruesomely throwback *and* is based on a wholly original concept. Thanksgiving is a contemporary reinterpretation of cheesy 80s midnighters about masked killers and juicy, rubbery effects that hoists holiday horror back into the limelight. It’s also fair to speculate how Thanksgiving signals a possible shift in overall genre trends, but labeling Thanksgiving as the rebirth of the slasher subgenre is a bit misleading. Roth’s ooey-gooey ode to holiday horror with all the trimmings certainly sticks out in today’s horror landscape, but that’s only on surface-level evaluations.
Heck, it wasn’t even the only holiday-themed slasher in theaters this season.

Bachelor Nation still has a month to wait before The Golden Bachelor star Gerry Turner and his new leading lady walk down the aisle in ABC’s January 4 “Golden Wedding” special, but that gives fans plenty of time to relive the rollercoaster season that was. From the Golden Bachelor contestants’ unforgettable arrivals to their borderline-nsfw jokes to the recent allegations about Gerry himself, here are the wild moments we’re still thinking about. 1. Contestants make saucy entrances Theresa celebrated her birthday by showing up to the Bachelor Mansion and opening her robe to reveal her “birthday suit” — which, to ABC’s probable relief, was actually a nude-colored body suit. And April, who grew up on a farm, clucked like a chicken and told Gerry her eggs were still “very fresh.” Meanwhile, Renee did a censor-baiting cheerleading routine, chanting, “Golden Gerry / You’re my man / Looking golden with that tan / Hope...
