The one good story is real good.

Warning: Spoilers
The second of the 3 stories in this episode follows the story of Lisa if she had witnessed Sideshow Bob murder bart in Cape Feare. Its a grim turn to the original back in 93, yet surprisingly a fun watch. They maintain a decent amount of comedy throughout the first section of that story, then manage to have a surprisingly cathartic and gruesome ending set to the revisited H. M. S. Pinafore track.

I feel like a more detailed, full episode- or at least two segment slot- coverage of the second story could have made for a more fully enjoyable experience, because the two other stories being told in this one are a little lacking. The NFT segment felt like the entire joke was that they were doing the segment in the first place, rather than any actual humor. The homer virus segment is retreaded ground with a surprisingly-lower quality. It also made me aware of how aged Harry Shearer's Smithers voice is, and I couldn't stop thinking about it all episode.

TLDR: Watch the second segment, trash the rest.

Two out of three ain't bad

Warning: Spoilers
Wild Barts Can't Be Token: incredibly awful. Nothing about this felt like the simpsons...well aside from the pointless celeb cameos, meaningless 'hip' jargon, and flat jokes. Also, small nitpick, why couldn't the three hooded people reveal themselves as the three nerds from Homer Goes To College? Would've been a great callback, actually funny, and would've made a lot more sense than 3 random celebs since the nerds would probably be into NFTs! Ughh...what if.

Eig8t: great Cape Feare ref! Great twists! Great jokes! I genuinely would pay for this to be fleshed out into a full episode. I was cheesing the whole time! If the first segment was a 2, this was a 10. It felt like a completely different show written by a completely different crew with a completely better understanding of the show. LOVED IT!

3: funny concept. I enjoyed it. Leagues better than the first segment but not as good as the second. I think we could've used an actual ending where a cure was developed, but the ending we got was funny too. Good segment!

Overall, solid TOH but man that NFT segment really did a number on me. I don't think i'm overreacting either; i think it was that bad. It dragged the whole episode down a letter grade for me.

It's great!

I was worried that this wouldn't be good due to the NFT segment, but I was wrong. The NFT segment was not mediocre or had any awful jokes in it, although I wasn't big about the last few moment of it. I think the second segment was my favorite, and I loved the reaction of Maggie working in the prison. However i should say the last segment of the episode was probably the worst in my opinion, but only because that I just wasn't very pleased with the ending of it and the reaction of Homer seeing what Marge had become was...sad to see. But it was still a very good episode nonetheless. It is surely as good as last year's Treehouse of Horror if not better I must say.

The first one is not that, the second one is is the best one and the third one is the worst

Warning: Spoilers
The first one is not that bad; they haven't really tackled NFTs before, but to admit it was lacking. The second one starts during the events of Season 5, episode 2 but what if Bob had realized Bart's plan and Lisa saw Sideshow Bob killed Bart brutally. The first thing that I like about this is the simple fact that it is a murder mystery. The second thing is the concept; imagine being Lisa in Ei8ht. Has this ever happened to you? You see your brother get killed on October 7, 1993, and then on October 7, 2023, a cop asks you to inspect multiple bodies, with the only words being "was the first." Then you realize the pattern, which is that they were all firstborns and had to go to an abandoned warehouse with meat hooks. The cop with you splits up and gets killed. You go to the security room, which looks just like your room, and you discover that you were the killer all along. You can't do anything about it because the killer is you. If you tell anyone, you go to jail; if you don't, you have to deal with the fact that you have multiple personalities for the rest of your life. Okay, I won't talk about the first one as long as I talked about the last one. The Plot of having multiple Homers has been done before In Send in the Clones, a virus taking over the world has been done in Don't Have a Cow, Mankind, and Dial Z for Zombies.

Never disappointed as such

I think this is the worst treehouse episode till now.

No funny intro we used to see in every episode.

The three parts feel like rushed or someone wanna do a job whether it is good or bad, the important thing is job done.

Old repeated ideas about lisa to be the suspected and the virus spreading the earth.

For me the first part is the worst.

I was waiting for this episode one complete year , i am an old simpsons fan and have seen all previous episodes, lately most episodes are not as good as old seasons but god this episode is way worse than any episode whther reular or a treehouse episode.

So sad my favorite show turn that way.

Better Than 23 Other Treehouse of Horrors
e_daneva16 December 2023
Treehouse of Horror XXXIV was an amazing episode. There are seven other Season 35 episodes. 1 is bad, 1 is okay, and 6 are pretty good. This episode falls in the pretty good category. Even though the last Treehouse of Horror was better, this Treehouse of Horror is better than 23 other Treehouses of Horror. I will rank the 3 segments of this Treehouse of Horror

Segment #1, Wild Barts Can't Be Token. I like the action in this segment. This segment was satisfyingly interesting. People either say that this is a terrible segment or the third segment is a terrible segment. I disagree with them. I think this is a great segment. I give this a 7.6 out of 10.

Segment # 2, Eight. This is the Cape Feare segment. I love this segment. This might be better than Cape Feare. I give this a 9.3

Segment # 3. This is the last segment. I think that this is a pretty good and light segment. Even though Homer is being a jerk, I still like this segment. I give this a 8.1 out of 10

In all, I give this episode a 8.5 out of 10.

Somewhat Of Let Down
preillyboss11 November 2023
Out of the three anthologies, Lisa's "Silence of The Lambs" esque segment is the strongest, with the callback to "Cape Feare" setting up an alternate future being quite fascinating, which it proceeds to fumble with a quite rushed and headscratching finale. I almost wished this segment had been given the care last year's It parody "Not It" had gotten with its own full episode. Alas it was not to be. Rounding out the other two segments were a perfunctory take down of NFT's that already feels beyond dated. "Post Covid" more then handled the NFT craze nearly 2 years ago. Ironically in a rare reversal I guess "South Park" did it first. And lastly in the final segment we get a gross send up of John Romero's "The Crazies" which asks the question of how disgustingly repulsive can they make the citizens of Springfield and by extension Homer. The answer, very. After last year's stellar segments, its comes as a disappointment to say this year's special is completely average.
