In an eleventh-hour shocker to save “All the Money in the World” from being pummeled with Kevin Spacey backlash when it hits theaters December 22, Deadline reports that director Ridley Scott and his producing partners at Imperative Entertainment have replaced the actor with Christopher Plummer. Immediate reshoots are expected of all scenes involving Spacey’s former role as oil tycoon J. Paul Getty. The kidnapping of Getty’s grandson is the subject of the film.
Since October 29, more than a dozen boys and men — including Broadway veteran Anthony Rapp — have accused Spacey of sexually harassing them or worse. On November 8, Spacey was accused of grabbing an 18-year-old’s genitals last year; a former child actor previously told Vulture that Spacey attempted to rape him.

As the fallout from Anthony Rapp’s story continues, eight members of the House of Cards production crew have come forward to accuse Kevin Spacey of “predatory” behavior, with one anonymous employee claiming they were sexually assaulted by the Frank Underwood actor while filming season 1.
CNN broke the news late last night, when it was confirmed that Media Rights Capital (Mrc), the production company behind Netflix’s political flagship, received a sexual assault complaint against Spacey in 2012, just as House of Cards was beginning to take shape.
“Immediate action” was taken, and Mrc swiftly resolved the situation without any notable ramifications – that we know of, mind you. But in a follow-up report, series creator and erstwhile showrunner Beau Willimon has stressed that he had no knowledge of the 2012 incident that prompted an investigation into Spacey’s dubious behavior.
I feel awful for the people who were wronged while working for House of Cards.

Update (November 3): Deadline reports Spacey has been dropped by his talent agency, CAA, and his longtime publicist Staci Wolfe.
According to eight members of the “House of Cards” crew, who spoke anonymously to CNN, Kevin Spacey allegedly sexually harassed young men who worked on the Netflix show. The most serious charge comes from a former production assistant who shared a harrowing story of having been sexually assaulted by the show’s star/executive producer.
For Netflix and the show’s production company Media Rights Capital (Mrc), the most damaging accusation may be that Spacey’s “predatory” behavior – including nonconsensual touching, crude comments, and “play fights” in which Spacey forced crew members to touch his crotch – often happened in open space for all to see, creating what was described as a “toxic” work environment.

Further allegations of sexual misconduct have been leveled against Kevin Spacey by accusers who claim to have been harassed by the actor.
Following allegations made by actor Anthony Rapp -- who claimed that Spacey made sexual advances on him in 1986 when he was a 14-year-old Broadway star -- earlier this week, a number of other men have come out to share their own accounts of alleged misconduct.
Filmmaker Tony Montana, best known for directing the acclaimed documentary Overnight, alleged that Spacey groped him at a bar in 2003.
"I went up to order a drink and Kevin came up to me and put his arm around me," Montana claimed in an interview with Radar Online. "He was telling me to come with him, to leave the bar. He put his hand on my crotch forcefully and grabbed my whole package."

Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington are getting Game of Thrones fans all hot and bothered with their onscreen chemistry (hot because we love them together, bothered because their characters are related). While the two have only recently begun to share scenes together on the show, their close friendship started back when the world was first introduced to Westeros in 2011. While there's no denying Kit and Emilia's natural chemistry, they aren't a couple in real life (Kit is dating former Got costar Rose Leslie). But that still doesn't mean they haven't innocently flirted from time to time. RelatedI Apologize For the Immediate Reaction Your Body Will Have to These Kit Harington GIFs One such incident was during a 2012 photo shoot for Rolling Stone with part of the cast. In addition to dancing together and Kit staring affectionately at Emilia, the shoot's photographer, Peggy Sirota, posted a photo from that day on Instagram four years later,...

Blackfish, The Act Of Killing - we celebrate the great documentaries distributed by the UK's Dogwoof...
Did you know that around 20 percent of the films released in the UK are documentaries? It’s a surprisingly large figure. I think the reason behind it might be that ‘documentary’ is considered to be a genre in and of itself. “And the Academy Award for best documentary feature goes to…”. They're all lumped into the same bracket. Also, they're relatively cheap to make and can be assembled independently by a team of only a few people. Success at the box office is often down on the priorities list for creators wanting to spread a message, tell a story or get a point across and, when they only need to recoup that small amount to be considered successful, documentary cinema becomes fertile ground for ambitions to grow in.

If this is as close as we get to resolving The Great Carrie Coon Technology Debate of 2017, we’ll take it. Not only did “Fargo” provide a happy ending to Gloria Burgle’s rage against the machines, but the symbolic message of humanity’s warmth trumping the cold nature of technology helped close out the penultimate episode of Season 3 on a graceful note. The world may not be what we thought, but there’s still good in it.
That being said, next week remains as big a question mark as ever — the dark may very well still overwhelm the light. Nikki Swango (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and Mr. Wrench (Russell Harvard) were in control this week, but how long can a broke duo stay in front of a rich crime boss? What will Gloria’s reinvigorated resolve get her mixed up in, and, abiding by the Peter and the Wolf analogy,...

Gloria Burgle to the rescue!
After an episode of incredible tension and unexpected tragedy, we didn’t realize how badly we needed to hear Carrie Coon say, “Screw it,” whip the cruiser around, and high-tail it back to “the P.O.’s domicile.” While the simultaneously ominous and uplifting strings certainly served to get our hearts beating, “Fargo” may as well have played Bonnie Tyler’s famous “Footloose” jam “Holding Out for a Hero” — because one is on the way!
It’s just we had to hold out a little too long. Just enough road blocks were thrown in front of Burgle to keep her from cracking the case earlier, and all that time led to an inevitable tragedy. Ray (Ewan McGregor) is the first major victim of Season 3 (unless you count the annual pilot sacrifice of Scoot McNairy’s Maurice Lafay), in a particularly well-orchestrated offing. First...

I doubt there’s a more telling shot for “The Leftovers” than the close-up of Nora sitting on the hotel bed, post-fight, as water from the sprinklers streams over her eyelid, masking the tears rolling down her cheek. Not only does it sum up the episode (and the pivotal final scene, which began with her putting tin foil over the smoke detector so she could have a cigarette), but it reflects the series’ predominant themes of grief and the misleading expressions of that grief.
Nora was crying, but anyone who walked in the room would just see water on her face — not tears. Anyone who walked in on her getting shot in the chest during Season 1 would see just that: a shocking act, not a woman trapped in a permanent cycle of mourning. If someone found out Kevin was talking to dead people, they’d see a man...

The remaster of the original Darksiders is confirmed with the new Warmaster Edition.
It was leaked earlier this week that Darksiders would be coming to PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, and PC in HD form. Turns out that was pretty much true, but instead of pure HD the entire game is getting a revamp for next generation.
The game will hit all platforms on October 25th and will retail for Usd $19.99.
The game is being developed by Kaiko which were involved in porting Darksiders 2 to Xbox one alongside Nordic Games, the original developers of the franchise.
"We had a short-lived epidemic of premature emancipation, causing the affected persons to burp out sensitive info a little sooner than planned,” says Philipp Brock, PR & Marketing Director at Nordic Games, and continues, “but after a minor surgery and some medication, we got it all under control.”

When it was released 10 years ago (on May 26, 2006), "X-Men: The Last Stand" seemed like the end of an era -- the conclusion of the "X-Men" trilogy, the end of director Bryan Singer's involvement with the franchise, and the last time we'd see the original cast. Little did we know that it was only the beginning, that Singer, the X-Men, and even Patrick Stewart as Professor X would all be back with a vengeance.
While "X3" was a huge hit at the box office, it was divisive with fans -- it's the poster-child for why third installments of movie franchises are usually regarded as the worst entry. In honor of the infamous threequel's tenth anniversary, here are ten things you need to know about the summer blockbuster.
1. After directing the first two "X-Men" movies to critical and commercial success, Singer famously dropped out of the third movie to make "Superman Returns.

Immediate Reaction:Um...Quinn? Are you okay? You don't look so good, Quinn. I know you don't want to turn yourself in, for fear of exposing the love of your life (Carrie, in case that wasn't very, very clear by now), but maybe you should have come up with a better plan than suicide by zip ties. (Okay, by drowning, really, but the zip ties were a unique way to do it.) We admire your conviction — even if the nice stranger turned out to be a little too attentive re your bleeding out in the back alleys of Berlin — but that ending wasn't very satisfying. It didn't adequately tease anything to come, so much as it just petered out; a nice parallel to your meaningless wandering, but not a great way to conclude a somewhat dull hour of television. Last Week's Episode: 'Homeland' Season 5 Episode 4 'Why Is This Night Different?'...

Doctor Strange DoP Ben Davis discussed the visual palette and context of the anticipated superhero film starring Benedict Cumberbatch at BAFTA.
Cinematographer Ben Davis has shed light on the look of Marvel’s upcoming Doctor Strange, which is set to shoot in the UK later this year starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role.
Davis, who was director of photography on Guardians of the Galaxy and also lensed Avengers: Age of Ultron for the mini-studio, revealed that the film is set for a “dark” palette and “psychedelic grounding”.
Speaking at a BAFTA Masterclass in London last night (Aug 4), Davis suggested that the film’s visuals will be influenced by the images of 20th century artist M. C. Escher, known for his mathematically inspired woodcuts, lithographs, and mezzotints, featuring impossible constructions and explorations of infinity.

Earlier this week, EA/Dice promised information on a new mode coming to Star Wars Battlefront this year and now they've shown off "Blast" mode, a Star Wars take on the team deathmatch. Come inside to learn more.
Being a multi-player online game only, it makes a bunch of sense for a more traditional style team death-match to be implemented in Star Wars Battlefront. When the game launches, on top of the vast maps you'll have access to, you'll also be able to face off in 10 v 10 matches in smaller arenas better designed for a deathmatch style of play. Check out all the information below:
Star Wars Battlefront’s Team Deathmatch mode, Blast, pits the Rebel and Imperial factions against each other with intense 10 versus 10 battles. If your team reaches 100 kills, or are ahead when the 10-minute round is over, you’ve won. Immediate, addictive, and exciting until the very...

Immediate Reaction: Finally! After six weeks of watching Rachel McAdams flash those knives around, Ani finally got to dice somebody up. While we didn't need the added foreshadowing of her "workout" session in front of dear 'ol sis, the payoff that's been promised all season arrived at long last, and it was...exactly what we were told would happen in Episode 2, "Night Finds You," when Ani said, "A man of any size lays hands on me, he's going to bleed out in under a minute." It took almost exactly that much time for Ani's attacker to lose enough blood to loosen his death grip on her throat, thus allowing her to escape (a bit too easily) from that well-protected party. Within what was the most effectively atmospheric scene of the season thus far, audiences were given precisely what they wanted and, consequently, exactly what we shouldn't have seen. One of...

Last Week's Review: 'Veep' Season 4 Episode 3, 'Data,' Cans a White House Staffer Immediate Reaction:Ben and Amy owned this week, which is somewhat ironic because they're at the opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to their respective mental states. Ben, who "was up all night belly-dancing," took too many Ambien and struggled to care about almost anything that happened during the staff's time on Air Force One. Meanwhile, back at home, Amy lost her mind because she was so far out of the loop. Repeatedly, the power-hungry campaign manager made references to her own dwindling self-esteem, and no one was there to help her (though we thought maybe Dan would help relieve some stress before he, instead, added to it). Everyone else fell somewhere in between these two extremes, including the President, who devolved from uncontrollable glee to such a great level of frustration as to deny her...

Matthew Vaughn has been a pretty reliable director ever since making his debut back in 2004 with the Daniel Craig-starring Layer Cake, but it's seemingly taken Hollywood a while to realize that he deserves to be a hot commodity. One would think that X-Men: First Class would have sealed that deal, but apparently it's the grand success of Kingsman: The Secret Service (which, believe it or not, made $40 million more worldwide than X-Men did while costing half as much) that's truly made him a favorite at Twentieth Century Fox. The studio already has him producing their Fantastic Four reboot, and now they've tapped Vaughn to direct a new version of Flash Gordon, the comic strip that not only resulted in a cult classic '80s movie, but was also one of George...

Nostalgia. It’s delicate, but potent. And Matthew Weiner and his remarkable cast and crew all know it.
This Sunday, the second half of the final season of Mad Men will premiere on AMC. For the characters that have roamed the hallways of Sterling Cooper (and that agency’s descendants) or have had a connection to someone in its offices, the end of the season will mark the conclusion of one glorious decade, the 1960s. For the loyal band of viewers that has stayed with the series for eight years, its final seven hours mark the end of another era, that of fine primetime television.
Expectations are certainly high. Mad Men has aired 85 episodes to date – and there isn’t a single clunker among the group. One would be hard-pressed to find a slump of episodes from its seven-and-a-half season run. Due to richly nuanced performances from television’s best ensemble to original,...

It must be obvious that you shouldn't read these reviews if you're Amazon-Priming Angel for the first time; but if you are, you really shouldn't read this one.
For the first few minutes, Hero looks set to be something of a light-hearted romp. We fade up on an imaginary advert in which Cordelia pictures a great promotion for Angel Investigations – complete with Angel looking straight into the camera, announcing: “You can count on me – I'm the Dark Avenger!” It's pure comedy silliness, only exaggerated by Doyle recoiling at the thought of his boss dressing up in a superhero costume.
The daftness continues as Cordy elects to opt for the 'common man' approach. Armed with only a camcorder and hastily rigged cue cards, Cordy's chosen her representative for Angel Investigations. Doyle's stumbling, fluffed attempts at enticing punters to Angel's business isn't exactly award-winning material. What with the low rats and the weasel factor,...

Paying homage to classic spy movies, Kingsman: The Secret Service is the coming of age story of a young man who joins a private British company that serves as the intelligence organization that is seemingly built to define what other intelligence organizations should be – it is essentially Mi-6 without all the bothersome government oversight and regulations.
As the film opens, we first hear the helicopters’ rhythmic urgency. In true old-school fashion, we are treated to an exciting set piece full of flying bullets and thundering explosions. The scene will inevitably lay the emotional groundwork for the rest of the film. During this battle, Harry Hart (Colin Firth), codename Galahad, leads a helicopter assault team of agents into a middle-eastern bunker to gather intelligence. One of his men is killed saving the rest of the team and Harry must now inform a grieving widow and son of the death of their loved one.

One of his men is killed saving the rest of the team and Harry must now inform a grieving widow and son of the death of their loved one.

If you're looking at Kingsman: The Secret Service strictly as a critic you're going to walk away with complaints. It's too long, too much CGI, doesn't really amount to much, etc. However, if you can put your critical goggles aside and look at it purely as a piece of entertainment, you'll find a lot to enjoy in what amounts to a comic lover's take on James Bond, made for an Add audience. Of course, I have to mention at the outset, the completely unnecessary anal sex joke at the end of the film, which actually betrays the character and the kind of movie this is, but I guess director and co-writer Matthew Vaughn felt he needed at least one bit of adolescent potty humor of which the rest of the film manages to avoid. The movie itself is a comic book adaptation from the writers of "Kick Ass", Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons,...

From Kingsman, the moment he was set to direct Casino Royale, to the lost Stardust 2, here's our chat with director Matthew Vaughn...
It's no secret that Matthew Vaughn was, under the original plan, going to move on to X-Men: Days Of Future Past after his success with X-Men: First Class. But instead, the director of Kick-Ass, Stardust and Layer Cake opted for Kingsman: The Secret Service instead.
In a chat ahead of the release of the new film, he tells us about why, about queuing up for effects shots, and the Stardust sequel that never was...
When I saw the film you came in and did a brief introduction. You described it then as the film you're most proud of doing to date. But why? Given some of the films you've made in the past, what made this one so special to you?
Because it was a culmination of everything...

One of the things I love about films by Matthew Vaughn is the sense of fun. In everything from Layer Cake to Stardust, X-Men First Class and especially Kick-Ass, Vaughn takes a film you think will be one way and spins it into something more. His latest, Kingsman: The Secret Service, looks to continue the trend. A spy […]

Director, actor and former Bill & Ted star talks about his latest film, Grand Piano, his documentary Deep Web, and lots more...
Although perhaps best known for his roles in two Bill & Ted films and The Lost Boys, Alex Winter is equally at home behind the camera, having spent the last two decades working predominantly as a director – from the cult classic Freaked, through various music videos, adverts and movies, up to his recent documentary Downloaded (which tells the story of Shawn Fanning and Napster) and the upcoming, Kickstarted-funded Deep Web.
Recently, however, he’s taken a rare step back into acting, appearing alongside Elijah Wood and John Cusack as a villainous usher in Eugenio Mira’s stylish thriller Grand Piano. We caught up with Alex down the line from his new home base in La, to discuss his work on both sides of the actor-director divide.
So I guess the first question,...

The work of Yoav Goren has been featured in movie trailers for The Wolverine, Rush, 47 Ronin and Star Trek: Into Darkness among many others. On September 12, Goren gives a talk entitled Trailer Music: New Trends/ Modern Techniques at the Production Music Conference in Los Angeles.
The Emmy-winning composer and producer and co-founder of Immediate Music talks to Elbert Wyche about the formation of his company, the oft-misunderstood trailer music industry and the creative process of scoring movie trailers.
Tell me a little about your start in the industry and how it led to the formation of your company Immediate Music.
We have to go back a little over 20 years to get to the beginning of the story. I was working at a music store in Santa Monica and one of my regular clients was a composer who I got friendly with. We discovered we liked the same kind of music, which is the...

With November Man out, excitement for Pierce Bosnan’s return to spying is at an all-time high for many James Bond fans. November Man, based on the seventh installment of Bill Granger’s book series called There Are No Spies, is about ex- CIA agent Peter Devereaux (Pierce Bosnan). While living a quiet life in Switzerland, Devereaux is ejected out of retirement for one last mission. Although the concept of the “one last mission/job” is not a new concept for Hollywood, it definitely has its place in cinema history, branching out to a wide range of reasons why our beloved characters are being pulled back into their past lives. From a retiree’s last gig, to the bad-boy-gone-good-and-then-bad-again mission, to the revenge premise, mythology of the ex-professional can surely delight and excite us to champion our heroes for one last fight. Here are scenes from ten incredible “one last job” films,...
