Greatly directed movie with unique story of love and valour
u-0491418 February 2024
This is best movie for lover of historical film category. Film can be watched with family. No boring time between movie. It really connects audiance throughout the movie. Depicting saurastra culture and mediaeval Gujarat history. Central theme is Daduji Barot and his adipur villagers which showed great valour to protect Palitana Jain temple. Mediaeval Gujarat plundered by Allauddin Khilji and main aim of his is to destroy religious places to instill fear in the name of Islam. The conversion tactics of Delhi sultanate is depicted vividly in this movie. Really well directed movie. Must watch movie.

Must watch

Kasoombo, adapted from Vimalkumar Dhami's novel, Amar Balidan, is brilliantly presented by Vijaygiri Bava. From the screenplay to the visualization, the movie does justice to the intent of the makers. The powerful dialogues by writer Raam Mori hit you, while the music and background score by Mehul Surti stand out, perfectly syncing with the mood of the story. As the story is set in the 14th century, the setting is aptly done with temples and palaces, which makes VFX a very strong element of the film.

Superb performance by all. Mind blowing music. Just go for it.

Khamkare Khodal. Jai Aadinath.

Daduji Ni Jai Ho!
anujdevluk16 February 2024
Kasumbo Is a gripping portrayal of bravery and resilience in the face of adversity. Set in Gujarat, this film follows the inspiring journey of Daduji Barot as he bravely confronts invaders threatening his homeland. The movie beautifully captures the essence of Gujarati culture and traditions while highlighting the valor and sacrifices made by ordinary people to protect their land and loved ones.

The performances by the cast, especially the portrayal of Daduji Barot, are remarkable, evoking a sense of pride and admiration among the audience. The action sequences are well-executed, immersing viewers into the heart-pounding battles against the invaders. Moreover, the film's cinematography brilliantly showcases the scenic beauty of Gujarat, adding depth to the narrative.

What truly sets Daduji Ni Jai Ho! Apart is its powerful message of unity and courage. It emphasizes the importance of standing together in the face of adversity and preserving one's cultural heritage. The film serves as a reminder of the indomitable spirit of the Gujarati people and their unwavering determination to protect their land and traditions.

Overall, a must-watch for audiences seeking an exhilarating cinematic experience infused with culture, action, and a strong sense of patriotism. It's a fitting tribute to the unsung heroes who fought valiantly to safeguard their homeland."

Kasoombo: A Cinematic Triumph in Gujarati Cinema
priyankdhami19 February 2024
Kasoombo is an enthralling Gujarati film that explores the historical events of the 13th sanctuary. The movie boasts stunning cinematography and seamlessly integrates VFX, making it challenging to distinguish between real and digitally enhanced scenes. The film successfully transports the audience to the 13th-century era, creating an immersive experience.

The selection of characters is commendable, with standout performances from actors portraying Dadu Barot and Allaudin Khilji. Their flawless performances add depth and authenticity to the movie. The narrative, crafted by Vimal Kumar Dhami, takes viewers on a journey through the courageous martyrs of Gujarat who sacrificed their lives to protect a sacred place situated on the Shetrunjay hills.

In a single word, Kasoombo can be described as the finest and one of the best Gujarati movies in recent times. It is a must-watch for all audiences, offering a compelling blend of history, drama, and exceptional storytelling.

More than a film, Kasoombo!
yajamahen16 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Applauds Shri Vijay Giri ji and the entire team of Kasoombo for this triumphant attempt unearthing Dadu Barot and all those Barot warriors of Shatrunjay, Palitana! Would want to refrain from adding lengthy spoilers because as a film, it's an exceptional masterpiece of hardwork in virtually all departments.

Saw a Gujarati film almost after decades, and can't believe there are makers, actors, and some crucial crew like in Kasoombo. Splendid especially with Director's brave venture to decide on such script. His knack for detailing in weaving the locale and all regional ethnic feel is truly commendable.

And the actors... while all have excelled, some of them are just gems! Film's background score, folk material and ambiance, the music, the songs, and intensity of the script.. Thrilling, heart wrenching and emoting at instances. All these guys have shed their sweat and blood in bringing a brilliant and unique film and especially in Gujarati Cinema.

This is a real story and few such historical events are way larger than being conceived through publications or films. These are subtle energy forms at soul level across different space-time which people have lived. Let alone, some really unsung heroes and unsung stories thereafter. Sacrifice is a rare courage that is easier said and decorated than done.

Such events and characters tell and teach us the crux of courage, integrity and unity, selflessness, rare sacrifice, love, humanity, faith and spirituality, which all the soil of this continent must be known for.

Hope the message conveyed by this piece of history penetrates deeper and remains long lasting instead of Momentary Shmashaan Vairagya in our hearts and minds which have evolved to a "different space time" now.

Much more than a film, obviously, Kasoombo!

Must watch... Go for it!

Top-notch aesthetics, a Very delicate theme, will be remembered for a long time
hindumediawiki18 February 2024
This is going to be an iconic movie in the coming time for Gujarati cinema for many reasons. There is no dull moment in the movie as the presentation is very intense and engaging. First of all congratulations to the maker of the movie and team for creating something which would save our cultural Continuity of India.

The movie captures the resilience of a community of a village in Gujarat against invaders trying to loot and destroy one of the important pilgrimage centers of Jainism. The movie has been a complete success in capturing this whole event cycle while delivering way above visuals, music, and dialogues.

Story: The screenplay of Talented writer Ram Mori has added magic to the storyline and as the director Vijaygiri took it to another level by having a crisp scene transition and maintaining an ideal pace. This movie does not have a dull scene or does not make one lose track even for a moment though it's a historical topic with lots of facts and nerdy insights. The element of drama has been used so well without distracting from the theme and it worked very well. This can be a great example for other historical drama movies coming ahead.

Visuals: The VFX's effects have been experimented well with openness, and the hard work of creating a dedicated set location and set elements has turned out so well. Overall VFX has added a grand beauty to story narration, Kudos to the team for this bet. The set and colors are so vibrant at the same time its so rooted in its original form. The makers are successful in taking us back to the time and adversity of that struggling event.

Music: The music is very well suitable to the story, it has got amazing singers and composers for songs and the background score has shown immense talent in giving it an unforgettable musical treat. The kasoombo got its musical treatment most accurately. The Garba song, the title song, and the wedding song trio are perfect.

Cast: The selection of the cast has worked in amazing ways. The cast exactly knew what they were doing and why based on historical context. The movie has become a very accurate bridge media too who are new to the Gujarati culture and language. The cast has portrayed the roles they were given very well. Respected Dadu Barot's role has been given accurate presentation and screen time which was top need of this story and theme. The experience of cast combined with VFX and music is highly immersive.

Runtime and Scene Selection: The expected accuracy of Historical drama has been achieved. Gita Slocka Scene is Goosebumping.

Kasoombo Movie as Social Learning Object: On the backdrop of the recent discussion of the Indian Knowledge system, decolonization, and attitude toward good historical knowledge, this movie can be seen as a mass learning object. Parents are suggested to take the kids to the ride of this amazing historical drama. It just not only narrates the story but also introduces hidden gems of the Culture of Gujarat.

This movie and the whole project are going to be an Epic movie experience that Modern Gujarati Cinema has been awaiting for a long. The hard work for the achievement of accuracy and perfect sync of each team member is very much visible. There are shocking events, there is playfulness, and elements of drama which combined with cinematography have delivered an unforgettable experience. The Kasoombo movie is going to be remembered for a long and the impact is huge.

Best wishes and Many Congratulations to the whole team!

Kasambo holds you till end
shreesurana28 February 2024
Watched kasambo with family on 26th February 2024 and must say Its a masterpiece. Keeps you engrossed with the little detailing done by the crew. The director keeps the e-motion going. No character is lead or little less. Every thing in equal proportions. Can't take ur eyes for anything else. Very real seems true and message clearly through to audience. My kid asks what's the moral and I said believe in God and be pure to your believe. "God's Bhakti gives us Shakti".

Congratulations team kasambo for great work, showing courage in what you presented. Pure piece of "Art". All the members - music team design, technicians, smallest contributor deserve "ACCOLADES". This MOVIE will MAKE YOU FEEL PROUD and ACCOMPLISHED. KUDOS.

Lauding for the effort they've put in !👏🏻
mahipparekh22 February 2024
The movie attempts to showcase a lesser-known but highly significant historical moment among us, the people of Gujarat, of which we are undoubtedly proud. However, one can't help but notice some flaws in the storyline, screenplay, and cinematography. The movie was supposed to focus on the tale of how our ancestors stopped a cruel invader and saved a pivotal chapter in our history. Yet, for no apparent reason, we witness almost 30 minutes of fillers that have no connection with the main story.

Slow-mo scenes were noticeably laggy with low FPS, and the camera occasionally jiggled between scenes. Additionally, one character had a random line inscribed on his face with what seemed like a mere black sketch pen, intended to be a scar but resembling more of an eyeliner.

The background music used to represent Khilji's intentions sounded like someone belching into a microphone. After witnessing the pinnacle of the Gujarati film industry with "Reva," filmmakers should prioritize investing more in their research rather than attempting to evoke baseless dramatic emotions. This movie highlights that there's still a long way to go for filmmakers to reach a new summit.

every Gujarati Must watch film
bhavintilavat19 February 2024
Every Gujarati must watch this movie. These types of films are not made often, now the trend is only comedy films.

This is the best gujarati film I have ever watched. The plot thickens in the second half of the movie. I could not stop crying for the last 15 minutes of this amazing movie. I swear to god, this movie should be dubbed in a lot of languages in India so that people will come to know about the atrocities of the Mughals and the troubles the people of Akhand Bharat had to undergo. This movie had me in a chokehold.

This movie gives you goosebumps moments many times. You get emotionally attached to this movie.

If Sanjay Leela Bhansali makes a film in Gujarati, such a film is "Kasumbo".

Please watch this movie in theater with your family. You will be proud of this movie.

This is the best movie among all Gujarati Movies i have watched.

Music and background score is superb. Dialogues are amazing and i loved them so much especially of character Arjun Barot and Dadu Barot , Khilji played by Darshanbhai is just amazing and delight to watch on screen. Best Historical movie from Gujarat
dhanikvora12 May 2024
One of the amazing directed movie from Gujarati cinema. The storyline was just on point. And the acting by lead actors makes you cry. I hope this movie reaches to mass crowd and especially people from Gujarat and jain community. They should know about the history of their forefathers and how people were brave to fight against Islamic attackers in the past. I was sad to see there were no big screenings and even no screens were given to the movie by PVR or Inox in a big metro city like kolkata. Astonishing thing to see. I also had to watch it through private screening done by Gujarati community. The mafia needs to end for such movies to prosper. Gujarati cinema is on its way like the South cinema. I hope everyone watches the movie and admires it.
