Cute little film about a group of residents in an apartment complex, which has been sold out from under the residents. The residents had better come up with a solution, or they'll all be out on the street. A variety of folks living in the apartments... the bickering couple that really does love each other. the single senior who starts looking up her old boyfriends for an answer. a wealthy retiree who may or may not be the solution to their problems. Its a cute little film that chugs along. Throws in some red herrings along the way... wasn't sure which way it was going to go. Mariette Hartley, George Hamilton, Barbara Bain, even Dick van Patten. Phillip Botello plays the young, maintenance guy, and just to show us how out of touch they all are, they can't even call him by his right name. Even Howard Hesseman (WKRP) is in here. Some fun humor. Written and directed by Rosemary Rodriguez. A fun watch. Currently on netflix.

Definitely a sleeper that is worth a look

I loved this movie and have watched it several times. Maybe it's that I've been around seniors most of my life because my parents were old enough to be my grandparents (I have a sister sixteen years older than me) and I love talking to seniors and getting to know them. I was glad to see a film that gives some really good parts to people old enough to receive social security benefits! Barbara Bain and Mariette Hartley are two of my favorite actresses and they are so good here. Valerie Perrine and Howard Hessmann are always worth watching. Sure, the script needed a little work but if you are looking for a quirky, fun and enjoyable comedy-drama with a cast that won't disappoint, this one is for you.
A sweet little gem with terrific performances

This is a little gem! I originally watched this because I'm a fan of Valerie Perrine, but what a cast. Marvelous performances from Alex Rocco, George Hamilton, Barbara Bain and especially Mariette Hartley. The plot isn't new, but the script has charm and the production is spare, but nicely directed, Check this one out!
Can Be Painful To Watch At Times

Believe me I'm no teenybopper, but this movie starring many aging stars of film and television was painful for me to watch at times. I'm not sure what the writer and director here Rosemarie Rodriguez was going for by throwing in a number of incredibly crude and cringe inducing sex scenes into what might have been a fairly decent and poignant story.
The plot revolves around a senior complex in Sherman Oaks, Ca. that is being sold and converted into condominiums, thus leaving many of the long-time residents in the lurch. There's an occasional laugh here and there in the script and it does strive for an upbeat ending, but most of the dialogue, as mentioned, is just painful to endure.
If I can make a suggestion where seniors are shown in a much better light, you might want to check out the British movie "Quartet", of a few years back, where senior residents of a nursing home band together to save it.

I watched this film on Netflix last night and enjoyed it so much I had to purchase my own copy. I will be re-watching it often. Jack McGee is absolutely wonderful! George Hamilton is funny and heart rendering! I really love the scenes with Jack McGee and Mariette Hartley! Jack definitely deserves more leading roles! Barbara Bain and Valery Perrine owned the screen in their scenes. Jack Betts and Alex Rocco were terrific!! Good job Rosemary Rodriguez! and Thank you for such an enjoyable movie!
Not "family friendly". Good movie about the challenges seniors living in retirement communities face
vonseck5 July 2017
This is definitely a TV-MA movie. Contains multiple uses of multiple curse words (s***, BS***, f***), full nudity and sex acts. Was unable to finish movie due to the non "family-friendly" content. What I saw was well written and well executed. Good casting. Includes multiple aspects of the challenges seniors face in general and within the realm of living in a retirement community. I would have marked it higher if not for the unexpected(TV-MA)content.

Not a family movie

The best thing about this movie was George Hamilton's portrayal, which was so out of his usual character. The storyline was predictable. I found it a bit depressing and was surprised at the unexpected porn scenes and obscene language and suggestions. There was a very disturbing scene which was important to the plot, which could have been toned down. Not the kind of movie it seemed like it would be from its description.
Has-Been Heaven

Warning: Spoilers
It seems you get a film made by asking every retired actor in or near LA to be in it. I still don't know why you would though. This was so painful to watch I did not make it very far before I stopped. I watched on Netflix (the place where they will show any piece of crap). The scene that stopped me was Dick Van Patten at the racetrack. Oh my God!! Why? Really...why? The Writer and Director, Rosemary Rodriguez might be a decent director but she should not write as this film shows. George Hamilton has never been a very good actor and once again proves that here. The one standout here is Jack McGee who is a fine character actor. This is a series of one liners for many old actors based upon their most famous roles....case in point the said Van Patten fiasco. When this nag scrolls past on Netflix...keep scrolling.
