Chastity is appealing in variation on a theme
lor_7 November 2018
James Avalon does a terrific job in escaping from the rigid format of this long-runnng Sweet Sinner series, abetted by the understated performance of Chastity Lynn in the title role.

Regular screenwriter for the label Jet Michaels (oddly credited this time as "Michael Jet") has fashioned a story that does not include the usual older generation of parents, destined to become romantically entwined with the jail-bait central character.

Instead we have Dana DeArmond and James Deen as the young parents, newly divorced. Dana hires Chastity (character name: Alice) without asking to see any references, an effective script red herring that had me expecting Lynn would be up to no good, but such is not the case.

Alice falls for Deen when he visits to pick up his things and see his child (as per usual in this porn genre, the baby is never shown on screen). Dana's famous quirky acting style is well-exploited by the director to suggest a mysterious mom, and much of the fun of Babysitter 8 is to gradually develop empathy or revulsion for each of the 3 central characters.

Testament to Avalon's directing skills is that Deen turns in a moving, convincing acting performance, in sharp contrast to the often phoned-in stick figure acting he delivers in literally thousands of videos, having been hired merely for his sex skills. To fill out Sweet Sinner's required 4 XXX sex scenes, Dillion Harper, Logan Pierce and Xander Corvus fill out the cast in zero-dimensional sex assignments.

The visual look of the DVD is excellent, with some moody lighting amplifying the romantic content.
