Bradley Walsh will also be returning as Bassett's assistant Dave Dodds, with Amanda Redman also back as the manager's wife Katine Bassett.
Inglourious Basterds star Til Schweiger is reportedly in advanced discussions for the role of German manager Jorgen Mannstein.
