What's up, Dok, can we rock?
clayface94 March 2020
The show opens with Davey Boy Smith versus Marty Jannetty. A Bill Clinton impersonator says that he'll be at Survivor Series. Dok Hendrix interviews Jim Cornette and Davey Boy Smith. We see a clip from WWF Superstars of Bam Bam Bigelow challenging Goldust to a match. Henry Godwinn squashes Terry Richards. Todd Pettengill gives the Survivor Series Slam Jan. Kama makes short work of Tony Roy. Bart Gunn battles Billy Gunn in a game of Karate Fighters. The main event is Bret Hart and Hakushi versus Jerry Lawler and Isaac Yankem. The opening match is good and the main event is okay, but the rest of the show really isn't worth watching.

The British Bulldog (W/Jim Cornette) Vs Marty Janetty

Bulldog wins with a running powerslam. This wasn't bad for a TV match, I suppose. I did feel Bulldog went to the reverse chinlock too much, but other than that, I didn't mind it. Marty's always been an underrated performer in the ring.

*3/4

It's announced that The British Bulldog is the number one contender to the WWF Title. He'll meet the winner of Bret and Diesel at Survivor Series. It's Shawn Michaels, Psycho Sid, The British Bulldog, and Ahmed Johnson on one wildcard team. Yokozuna, Owen Hart, Razor Ramon, and Dean Douglas on the other. Cornette says Shawn will pay if Shawn tries to double-cross Bulldog. Bulldog says he's decided on the In Your House PPV in December for his title shot.

Bam Bam Bigelow will face Goldust at Survivor Series.

Henry Godwin Vs Terry Richards

Terry Richards is Rhyno! Godwin wins with The Slop Drop. Hunter Hearst Helmsley comes out and pedigrees Godwin on the floor after the match. To add insult to injury, Hunter slops Godwin with his own slop bucket as well. This was a basic squash match and nothing more. Henry Godwin was never that over and his babyface push didn't last that long. That was the problem here. 95 was filled with feuds and wrestlers that nobody cared to see. It was fun to see Rhyno as a jobber, though.

1/4*

The Undertaker will captain a team of Fatu, Henry Godwin, and Savio Vega. King Mabel will captain a team of Jerry Lawler, Hunter Hearst Helmsley, and Issac Yankem.

Diesel says this is the 3rd meeting between Bret and Diesel and it'll be the last. He doesn't like Bret's odds.

Kama (W/Ted Dibiase) Vs Tony Roy

Kama wins with a punch. I wasn't paying that much attention for two reasons: first, it's a Kama match! Second, Shawn Michaels called in and I was listening to him.

DUD

It's Razor Ramon Vs Psycho Kid next week on Raw for the Intercontinental Championship. There are a couple of special stipulations as well. The 123 Kid is the guest referee and the title can change hands on a countout or disqualification.

Jerry Lawler & Issac Yankem Vs Bret Hart & Hakushi (W/Barry Horrowitz)

Lawler and Yankem win by DQ. This was a tad disappointing, to be honest. I didn't expect a classic, but I did expect a solid tag team match. This one never got going the way it should have. The ending was a bit surprising as well.

*1/2

Final Thoughts.

I'm starting to sound like a broken record when it comes to 95 Raw episodes. There is nothing on this show that really stands out. A disappointing main event really hurt this one as well. You'd be smart to skip this one.
