The Orphans plan their great escape
DVD_Connoisseur16 January 2019
"Scarred" is an edge-of-the-seat viewing experience as Helena hatches a plan to escape the confines of her cell...again.

I never imagined Helena's character growing on me like she has. She has some of the best lines, a wicked sense of humour and she's a lethal weapon when vexed.

The third season seems to have upped the ante on violence. There's red stuff galore again in this episode.

9 out of 10.

Finally getting intense, but still not as interesting.
We're already half way through the season, and it feels like almost nothing has happened yet (at least compared to last season's speed). This episode finally regained the intensity of the previous season, with a nail-biting escape sequence, but the intrigue of new information is gone. It just feels like nothing is having any impact in the long run. The show is still enjoyable, but it doesn't feel meaningful in the same way anymore. Hopefully it will take an upswing in the second half. There does appear to be some form of strange twist at the end of the episode, so hopefully that will send things moving towards revelations.

In my previous review, I said that Gracie was fifteen. This was a guess, as no-one had said her age on the show and I couldn't find it on the wiki. In this episode, it is revealed that she is eighteen. I still stand by the context in which I cited her age, but it was a mistake.

[8.5] The blonde scorpio

Warning: Spoilers
An intense episode centered on Helena, my favorite clone. It was well-made, suspenseful with flowing scenes. (The series & Helena): Going somewhere, anywhere? Nobody new knows that yet!

Frustration and desperation are visible on Sarah's face. "What the hell was I thinking"...

Warning: Spoilers
This episode begins with Helena, she has been brought back to her cell. Sarah is also at the Castor camp. Cosima has a date with Shay. Helena and Sarah got reunited, or at least a sort of. Sarah has a conversation with Virginia. Sarah has a confrontation with Paul. Shay kisses Cosima. Sarah got knocked down by one of the guards. Sarah stole tweezers out of the medic room. Gracie fell down. Helena got out of her cell, she pushed Elders his head into a sharp stick. Elders died instantly. Helena left Sarah behind in her cell. Helena escaped out of the Castor Camp. Nice Episode of Orphan Black Season 3, this was the best episode so far of Orphan Black. This Season Rocks! But still not a 9, but that will come.

The episode where the third season begins to really deliver
SJulien1221 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
A very good episode which proves, in my opinion, that the series does not run out of steam after three years. Cosima's date is closely watched and all I want is for Delphine to get back to her, while Gracie detaches herself from her life before by donning Sarah's clothes and tasting alcohol. As for the situation of the twins, Helena's answers to her sister's questions are hilarious, but this light tone does not last since the Ukrainian ends up abandoning Sarah, while the latter has done everything to come to help her. Other people have compared this episode to a video game, and it is true that Helena's escape in particular reminds one of that. It looks like Paul is starting to have second thoughts about the treatment the Castors are going through, which will be of great importance in the next grand episode like the fact that the party at Ms. S's and Art's encounter hints that the male clones are transmitting a STD.
