A Lot of Stuff Happens!
gab-147127 September 2020
"Dead Air" is a better episode than the last episode. While the case of the week falls mostly flat again, this episode succeeds in making lots of stuff happen in such a short span of time. By the time the credits role, you will probably be gripping your seat so hard. I was enamored by the ending! Still there is plenty of amusing things happening. Ravi falling in love with Peyton, Blaine becoming a big part of the episode, Major's character development, and zombie rats!

In this episode, a radio talk show host whose expertise was on love and sex was murdered. When Liv ate her brains, she became the romantic expert which created some amusing situations between herself and Ravi. Major was snooping around which landed him in jail. Peyton got him released which opened up Ravi's eyes. He asks Liv to set them up, but Liv believed that Peyton is just too good for him. She is "a lawyer who looks like a Victoria Secret's model." That won't stop Ravi! Meanwhile, with Major seeing brains from the Candyman and breaking into his car, Liv tries to drive him away from the scent of zombies. Finally, it looks like Lowell has some association with Blaine. The rat that Ravi tested for the cure turns cannibalistic and kills the other rats...and bites Ravi's hand. Uh...oh!

Overall, this is a great episode because the characterization is sped up. Blaine, the city's zombie crime lord, is the show's main highlight. It's funny what an elevator ride for Liz can do to her mind and soul. We finally get to see Jerome's fate and we also see how reluctant Clive's boss is when regarding Blaine. A lot of stuff is happening, and it looks like Major is getting closer and closer to discovering Liv's secret. The case of the week is fairly weak and predictable, but it did allow for some sweet moments of levity.
