Victor is starting to become a threat.
Sleepin_Dragon12 June 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Victor's act of helping Kathy to steal the discarded files opens up a can of worms for Callum, a file outlining details of Dieter's involvement in bases which used slave labour and saw executions take place, Dieter vehemently denies ordering executions or any involvement. Victor becomes more outspoken, speaking loudly about courting Nazis, he draws the attention of Salter. Callum steals an important role for Harold, the content detailing the previously mentioned way in which the war could have been avoided. Now caught up again with Dieter, Frau Bellinghausen is sidelined, Callum relying on Harold to entertain her. On a lighter note Rachel puts on a fashion show, but Alex is starting to see that something is happening between his wife and Callum.

As is so often the case with a six or seven part serial there tends to be a lull in the middle, and this is is, the first forty minutes were a little lacking in content, covering old ground with the story returning to Dieter, and Cal and Rachel's relationship. The last twenty minutes however saw the show spring to life in typical Poliakoff style, Freddie Highmore arguably stole the show with his brilliant performance as Victor, it looks as if Victor's become a danger. Lindsay Duncan added her usual class, no wonder Poliakoff places her in so much of his work, I loved her scenes with Alfred Molina, the end was very touching.

A little less content, but saved by a wonderful ending 7/10

Callum decides Lindsay-Jones might be better to get the secrets of the perfume from Frau Bellinghausen but she is having none of it.

Victor has uncovered evidence that Dieter was using slave labour when developing jet engines for the Nazis. Although Dieter has been cracking on with his work for the British, this now places suspicion back on him. Kathy has found a woman who might shed more light to Dieter's past.

Callum goes to the Foreign Office and easily finds the minutes to the meeting about the plans for a coup against Hitler which could had prevented the second world war just as Lindsay-Jones had said.

Victor is still a loose cannon not happy how all these Nazis are being wined and dined and Salter is still listening in even though Callum had thrown him out of the hotel.

Again instead of moving forward I just felt the plot has stepped backwards. Back to Dieter being more of a Nazi than first thought, Victor going haywire again. I even predicted Lindsay-Jones would come a cropper and he nearly did. Just more padding of a serial that should had been done with in four parts.
