I only watched this episode as I'm an adult and just wanted to check it out. It's actually pretty funny. There are a lot of interesting scenes and plotlines, but this is not really a high quality show. While the writing is great the plot is rushed. You have 3 different storylines in 23 minutes! One is when the blonde lead goes on a show, two is when she teaches her small cousin to win, and 3 is a pointless affair storyline with boring actors. What the hell is the pace? The pace is extreme and we barely get to really feel for any one character. The canned laughter for me is a non-starter. I hate it and refuse to watch modern shows using it. It's fine in old shows where you can't avoid it in the biggest comedy shows, but now it feels fake and cringe. Maybe kids don't hate it yet?
The overly dramatic acting is spectacular. You feel that the actors bring their full energy to all scenes and especially the blonde lead is amazing as she is acting out all interactions. Every time she is on screen I'm glued to the screen as she is giving 100% and I'm a big fan already. Seriously, this is great stuff. The love affair storyline unfortunately was a bit boring and dry as the actors there were not nearly on the same level, it was fine.
The third storyline was with a small cousin who the blonde teaches to win. As the blonde is amazing obviously this storyline is hysterical too! So 2 great storylines and one dry and rather pointless one. But it's too much for such a short episode. It should have been about 1 thing only. I loved the Linda and Heather show and the actresses. They went full energy too and it was great to watch. Honestly there is something very great here, but with the canned laughter and break-neck speed it doesn't quite shine. If you fix these 2 things this honestly would be a show I'd watch as an adult grumpy man because there is a ton of great stuff here.
