Warning: Spoilers
Not exactly bad, but I have seen better in this series.

Of course, the family is in despair when Nikki is kidnapped by a serial killer. While it was fortunate for Frank's granddaughter, I thought the ending was a cop-out. Of course, the killer really showed what a maniacal killer he was. Again, we saw Erin out of the office, hot on the track with Danny riding around in his car searching for her daughter. Erin was firmly gripping that gun in her hand and she was sure looking for action. I'd call it the district attorney's revenge.

The second story needed to be played up more. An Irish delegate in the U.S. tells Erin that his father, now supposedly dead, had been imprisoned for assault. Of course, Erin investigates and finds out that the father has done 40 years in prison and is still living. The meeting of the son and father should have been more poignant.

Helpful hints not taken

As viewers of Blue Bloods know Donnie Wahlberg does not control his passions well. But he could be forgiven when one of his family is put in harm's way because of serial killer Louis Cancelmi.

The NYPD receives two pieces of information about Cancelmi. Rumors are that he's been spotted back in New York City area. Secondly that the FBI has found Cancelmi's burial ground out in Little Neck which is on the Nassau/Queens border line on the North Shore of Long Island.

Wahlberg is not a cooperative sort and the usual turf war erupts when the FBI tries to assert jurisdiction. Michael Beach who is an FBI profiler offers some useful suggestions which Wahlberg does not take.

In the end there is a confrontation scene with Wahlberg and Cancelmi which sets up the beginning of the following season of Blue Bloods. Cancelmi will really chill you with his portrayal as a totally amoral psychopath.

A poorly written finale to what was a fairly gripping story line

Warning: Spoilers
If you followed this season's tale of Danny vs. Physco serial killer, the conclusion in this episode will be a huge letdown. Danny & Erin easily locate the baddie Thomas Wilder who waits for them in a grassy field with Nicky in a car trunk. Wilder simply claims he will always be in Danny's head before committing death by cop using his fingers as guns. For a nut who always got the best of Danny, a very silly end.

For those who thought Wilder's sick but clever killer would die in some epic, well-written finale this was a "No - you gotta be kidding" ending. It reminds me of the old sitcom title "Just Shoot Me". Too much of the hour is wasted on an unnecessary Michael Beach (great actor, awful character here) and "turf war" story line. Nothing clever or exciting at the end of the storyline. A terrific acting job by Lous Cancelmi down the tubes, unconvincingly.
