I liked the Kate and Randall story. Although I think he had real reason to be upset with her and fly across the country to apologize wasn't something he had to do. But in the end she told him he had a lot of their father in him. Her scene with all the other Katie's was pretty good. I am also curious what will happen with Randall and Beth now when they both need each other.

And I liked how they showed us Rebecca and Jack's story go on. The way she looked him up was really great. And I also liked the conversation she had with her ex's mom.

Also now I see how we will see more Jack in this season. I guess we will be exploring his Vietnam time together with Kevin. A pretty good idea.

I am trying to stay with this series...

Right now, the episodes are just too much inside the heads of the three. Acting is really good for the most part but the writing just keeps leading them into anxiety! None of the three seem to be settled and be happy. Obviously conflict is inevitable in life, but the characters can never just relax! Kevin is really confusing to me. I don't know if he is a bad actor, or if he is a good actor acting like one who can't, but he has no confidence whatsoever. He seems detached from his character. The series comes from a very rich premise, but I am uncertain about the ability of the writers to draw from that richness. I also feel that the time jumps seem quite random and even the subject matter of the jumps is erratic!

It's in Your Head

Kate and Toby dominate this one pretty much. They are making every effort to get the IVF to work. But Toby is a loose cannon because in order to get his sperm to be more viable, he chooses give up his anxiety meds. He is falling apart. Kate goes in for the procedure. Her dreams are a staple in this series. While under an anesthetic, she meets her two younger selves, each of whom has a different feeling about what she is doing. There are some scary moments. Randall has insulted her, being high and mighty, and travels all the way to the west coast to be there when she is finished. Anyway, there is some hope now.
