A tribute to Salman Shah and a nice work
mmh-wakim322 August 2018
Salman Shah, the late actor, was and still is a fashion icon in Bangladesh. 1990s generation adopts his fashion and style nowadays. However, this movie 'Poramon 2' shows this aspects in the first part of the movie through the protagonist who took the last name of the late actor as Sujan 'Shah'. The craze and popularity of Salman Shah is presented as the villagers are shown to stop their works while Sujan performs Salman Shah in every weekend. All the villagers loved the show of Sujan as well as Pori, who loves Sujan from her childhood. But Sujan does not like her, eventually hates her because of an incident from childhood. Meanwhile, Sujan learns the truth of that past and fell in love with her. Sujan starts working hard to settle a life with Pori but her father and brother impede at this that changes the environment of the show. The movie is inspired or key plot has been taken from Tamil-language movie 'paruthiveeran'. But the newcomer Raihan Rafi made this in his way and in Bangladeshi context. He showed his mastery in making. But several unnecessary scene should be deleted, such as the peeing scene of Bapparaz; as this scene importunate the tragedy of suicide of Jasmine. The length of the first show from 'Keyamat Thekey Keyamat' can be reduced. Siam Ahmed as Sujan Shah was amazing, though this was his debut movie. As a fan of Salman Shah, he started his film career as a tragic hero. Puja Cherry was also praiseworthy. Her acting, dance and dialogue delivery tells how competent she is. From other supporting characters, Saeed Babu and Fazlur Rahman Babu played their role well, but Bapparaz was disappointing. Cinematography of Saiful Shaheen shows several drone shot, extreme wide view that was eye-soothing. He took the scene of suicide of Jasmine, huffy separation scene of Sujan and Pori on the bridge, some beautiful picture of the village in a great way. Background music of Raj Narayan Babu and songs pleased the audience. Overall, this one may not be a great one, but still it shows some beauty of filmmaking and nice work from the cast. Raihan Rafi should keep it up for his later ventures.

Good Cinematography, Screenplay and Editing. Thanks to give tribute to Salman Shah

The only daughter of day laborer Kafil Mia, Jasmine, committed suicide by hanging herself on the darkness of the night, because her lover Kabir betrayed her. Since self-murder is not accepted in Islam, there is no place for the funeral and grave of Jasmine's dead body in the Islam inhabited Shwapnopuri village. A mosque imam and an influential rich man of the village with the help of Badrul Talukder did not let the funeral and grave take place in the village. Kafil Mia digs his daughter's grave in the Khas land (government owned land) on the bank of the river and performs her funeral. No one from the village took part in the funeral but, a small ten-year-old boy Sujon did. Kafil Mia could not accept his daughters death, but he begins to search for hope and strength in the midst of this tragedy. After 10 years, Pori and Sujon fell in love with each other but Pori's family did not accept it. So, Sujon and Pori decided to escape from their village. The film ended with a tragic event.

The acting of Siam Ahmed, Pori and Fazlur Rahman Babu was impressive.

This movie gives a tribute to the legendary actor Salman Shah.

The screenplay was good. Especially the drone shot. The cinematography and editing was good.

A tribute to the number one hero of Bangladesh Salman Shah!

The film is mainly a love story but the movie represents the bad thinking and wrong things that the society do just for keeping name ahed of others. The lead role of the movie is "Sujon" who is Siam Ahmed. Though it's the first film for him but he seriously acted like a pro actor. And Pujja Chery was also awesome. She already had her experirin the film Noorjahan. So she could use her intellect quite well. And the young director Raihan Rafi, nothing to say about him. His direction has given the film another look. So overall it's quite a good movie to watch.

A really fun amazing movie. A must see!

Hell & Heaven Director: Raihan Rafi Featuring: Siam Ahmed and Puja Cherry Roy Writer and Director Raihan Rafi and Produced by Abdul Aziz, brings us Hell & Heaven. He brings us this beautifully filmed Bollywood spectacular to the screen. The grand scale of this movie reminded me of the way movies used to be made in the glory days of Hollywood. We're you Would get elaborate, really thought out scripts. This is a love story about 2 young kids (Sujan and Pori) in a small Bangladeshi village. Where tradition still stands true and are followed out till this day. A suicide is done by women with a broken heart and she is deprived of a proper funeral and burial. Suicide is looked down upon and your soul goes to hell. Sujan our of respect and kindness is the only one with the grieving father to attend his daughters burial. He will always remember that and how a broken heart had turned this girl to a terrible end and how she was shunned by the townspeople! Everything is fine and him and Pori live there lives as best as they can. Sujan lives with his brother, hates schools and wants to be a action movie star and poor. Pori is rich and not really allowed to be with Sujan. One day they go to the local swimming hole and he convinces her to let loose and have fun. They play and have fun splashing around in the water. Pori loses her expensive necklace and can't find. He tells her to go home before she gets in trouble and he will find the necklace. When returning home it is immediately noticed the lost necklace and she is punished, but tells her parents it was stolen by a thief. After a while Sujan finds it and races to bring it to her. Fearful of her father she is forced to see her friend accused of being a thief and beaten with a chain for suspicion of steeling the necklace. 10 years pass and Pori loves grows for Sujan, whose hate grows for her! He has since made a theatre and acts out his hero adventures in skits. Elaborate musical skits really delight and amuse as you watch. Sujan and his 2 friends delight the villagers and pack them as they delight to his shows. Pori never gives up and continues to try to win the love of Sujan who continues to reject her. He finally gives in but tricks her as a revenge and to show her his acting skills. Feeling hurt she has had it and swears it's over and she will never love him. Feeling sorry he turns over a new leaf and swears to win her love back no matter what it takes. Even if it means giving up his move to be a movie star and work as a laborer and make an honest living. He works hard and saves all his money so he can marry Pori. Her family has different plans and wants her to marry what they feel is better for her. An arranged royal marriage. This does not sit well with them. After all these years of going back and forth and proving there love to each other they decide to elope. Things get bad and lives will be changed forever. There fate is in there hands you will be amazed and shocked on how things unfold. Wow this movie is amazing. I have not been truly moved emotionally by a movie for a long time. I was watching something unfold in front of me that was visually stunning and beautifully shot. The beautiful landscape and crisp colors of the beautiful costumes were breathtaking. The musical numbers, yes musical numbers were choreographed and acted out as delightful as an actor led Roger and Hammerstein musical. The dancing and singing was so much fun. This movie came in at over 2 hours but not once did I look at my watch. I wanted more. I was drawn in with the story and tradition of the characters, I not only watched a good movie but was educated about a different life style. The actors all need to be recognized and for a pretty new Director I am so interested in seeing what's next, I will follow and track his career. Powerhouse movie maker Abdul Aziz knows good projects and this has to be one of his best. His amazing talent is always recognized in any project he is part of! I hope this movie gets the audience it deserves. Don't be fooled that it's a foreign movie, this is a human interest story that can be anywhere. It's a story of love and how when it's so deep nothing could deter even when tragedy may be the outcome.
