As much about parenting an autistic child as about swimming
julian_t_ward28 November 2019
I watched this documentary as an avid open water swimmer expecting an in-depth birds eye insider view of a woman attempting a phenomenal physical and mental challenge. Of course the swimming is centre stage, yes, but the real story becomes about a single mother's journey with her autistic child. A worthy film if you are interested in either story.

An Elite athlete required

Warning: Spoilers
Possible spoilers here...

We can all be critical of Beth (lead) but what separates her and elite athletes that succeed is their unwilling not to be unselfish.

What really got my back up though was all the people that committed their time, money and efforts to assist this women to achieve something no one has ever done or could even contemplate being able to afford to attempt.

Fair play to the staff and director for attempting to have an ending to this film.

I felt sorry enough that you wasted a year of you're lives on two snowflakes that have the rest of their lives together I just had to make account to make a review of this film; I mean they travelled the world together ffs what more of a journey do you need with your son?

This film is only worth watching to feel the pain of the crew that probably wasted 2019 filming this, I hope Beth sits there and thinks of all the opportunities they have lost out on while she muddy cuddles her son and I pray to God any money made from this film is given to charities for the fools that donate hard earned cash for her to complete her dream!

Well, that was 2 hours of my life I will never get back!

Warning: Spoilers
Thst is two hours of my life I will never get back, but hey, I didn't waste a year like her crew did!

The documentary had great potential, but it focuses less on the incredible physical and mental feat, and more on the needs of her child, her chronic illness, and then when she is doing well, she gets bored and quits! Her crew waste a year for her to throw in the towel when her child cried.
