Good start to the movie

Good start to the movie. I like the actors. I like the bindings that connect them. I think in the future I will find more things I like about this series.

Warning: Spoilers
SWCC (Special Warfare Combatant Craft) Boats are heavily armed, bow .50 caliber, stern .50 caliber, port 2x 7.62mm machineguns mounted tandem, starboard 2x 7.62mm mounted tandem. Some have 7.62mm "Mini Guns", M19 Grenade Launchers.

During the firefight depicted, nope the SWCC Boat would have blown them out of the water, even if they had to use an anti tank missile. Stern and Bow .50 calibers and 2x 7.62mm would have concentrated fires on the enemy boats as soon as they started to fire at the S.E.A.L. Team.

The SWCC radar would have seen the enemy boats approaching kilometers away. 3 enemy boat sunk, SWCC sails away. For purposes of Support there would have been at least one MQ (Armed "Drone") that would have visually using Thermal seen the approach of the 3 enemy boats, and if determined a possible threat to the S.E.A.L. or SWCC would have splashed each of the enemy boats.

At least they are using the actual stereoscopic four lumen tube night vision devices, that provide depth perception. Really important when you are running in corridors so that you don't run full speed face first into a bulkhead.

U.S. Navy S.E.A.L.s doing Shipboard Special Reconnaissance do not dress that way, as if they are doing Land Warfare. Wet suits or Dry suits, Rebreathers are common for Shipborne Operations. They also would not have used the ships emergency ladder as that is a known location, they would have brought either and or ropes and their own ladder. They would have quietly slipped into the water, swam to a location away from the Harbor or Port out to Sea and get picked up by the SWCC, as being discovered during Special Reconnaissance means your gathered Intelligence is no longer valid and is compromised, the Enemy will take actions like adding more security or at the least moving.

"Suddenly" discovering one of the S.E.A.L. Team Members dead, not going to happen. Everybody checks to make sure, after each engagement.

U.S. Navy S.E.A.L.s based on previous Actions usually are not less than 4, 6, unless attached to other U.S. Special Warfare Teams (U.S. Army Special Forces Teams, U.S. Air Force Special Operations Wings Special Tactics Teams, U.S.M.C. MARSOC, CIA Special Activities Directorate Teams or Special Operations Group Teams). Example Four U.S. Navy S.E.A.L.s of USNDEVGRU were attached to 1st Detachment U.S. Army Special Forces Team (Delta) as part of Task Force Ranger, to locate and capture Somali warlord Mohammed Farrah Aidid.

U.S. Navy S.E.A.L.s are not Vietnam War U.S. Army Special Forces Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol Teams, and are not trained to do that, based on how many U.S. Navy S.E.A.L.s got Killed In Action attempting that Mission.

U.S. Navy S.E.A.L. Teams are not 6 Sailors, Seamen. And are over 300 Sailors, Seamen.

U.S. Military Operations at U.S. AFRICOM are handled by U.S. AFRICOM in this case their Mission at Liberia Africa. U.S. Navy S.E.A.L.s would be attached to U.S. AFRICOM, being that this S.E.A.L. Team is not complete they would be attached to a U.S. Army Special Forces Team. Does not matter which Branch of Service they belong to, nor who Ordered or whom the work for.

Give me a break...

Warning: Spoilers
Been involved with the military for 42+ years. See C-17s EVERY day. So far, this show is kind've. BS. The team leader wouldn't be in charge with obvious PTSD symptoms. That shrink would have his posterior riding the pine til he started cooperating. The team shoots far too much in action. Just double tap 'em and move on. The gear they use is certainly cool as well as the mil slang but the writers are really screwing up. C'mon, get it real by being right. There's plenty of "gung ho" potential to be had regarding the SEALs. Just don't forget the GBs & Force Recon, too. They all cooperate and are damn good, too. Hoping for improvements. Will keep giving it shot for awhile.

Boring as hell....

For a pilot they needed to bring their A game. Almost fell asleep watching it. Didn't see what the point was. Pretty much stating the obvious. Yeah, if you are expecting it to be something of Jason Bourne nature, forget it. Simple formula: Macho brawny snappy fast talking talking SEALs deployed for a mission. Nothing original.

I had high expectations after seeing some clips. Although I will finish Season 1, but I hope the rest of the episodes are not so yawn inducing. Only thing that makes it bearable is the very attractive Jessica Pare.
