The idea of the movie is obviously unchanged, but everything is projected on the currect social media trends, lifestyle choices, and whatnow, which doesn't always seem to work in favor of the story

I wasn't expecting much from this Riverdale-like pilot - well, screw me !
Multiple, multiple references to the original film - maybe a bit "very" for me.
It all feels a little disturbing, a lot of neons, the school feels like a dystopia. The popular "girls", usually mean blondes, feel like they just got out of tumblr and bully anyone who dares not following their radical feminist agenda.
Veronica and JD seem a bit fade for now but they may get interesting in the next episodes, wait and see as they say.
In resume, love the ambiance and the context, I hope they won't screw it up later.
