More shark attack horror is on the way with The Last Breath, and Deadline lets us know this week that filming is underway in Belgium. They’ve also shared a first-look image (above).
Joachim Hedén (Breaking Surface) is directing a script by Nick Saltrese (Prayer Before Dawn).
“The survival thriller follows five college friends who go scuba diving into a recently uncovered WWII shipwreck in the British Virgin Islands, where they find themselves trapped by great white sharks.”
Jack Parr (Peaky Blinders), Kim Spearman (As I Am) and Erin Mullen star alongside Julian Sands (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).
Deadline notes that Eric Börjeson (Let The Right One In) is the cinematographer.
Released back in 2020, Joachim Hedén’s Breaking Surface is one hell of an intense underwater thriller, so we cannot wait to see what Hedén does with sharks added into the mix.
This should be one to keep an eye on!

Justin Bieber’s sixth album, Justice, begins with the voice of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere,” the civil rights icon declares, leading us to expect, perhaps with some trepidation, a statement on our troubled times from the 27-year-old pop star himself.
Instead, Bieber is soon cooing falsetto praises to his lover (“don’t want to close my eyes I’m afraid I’ll miss too much”), supported by a spare piano that gives the pretty “2 Much” just enough musical shape, suggesting the...

Emerging director Guy Davies cold-called cinemas to get his coming-of-age romance Philophobia shown – and it worked
Getting a small, independent movie into cinemas is a huge challenge at the best of times. Ironically, it might be easier in the worst of times. Which, thanks to Covid, is now. That is what Guy Davies found with his new film Philophobia, a coming-of-age romance set in his home town of Stroud. With the big studio movies now in hibernation, cinemas are hungry for new content, which means opportunities for smaller fare. So Davies decided to take the initiative. “I’d been banging on doors all year with the film,” says the 29-year-old film-maker, “so I just thought: why not go directly to cinemas?”
