Far better than expected Afro-Centric feature
lor_15 August 2017
Back in the heyday of VHS I watched many a Video Team/Afro-Centric release to see my favorites like Dominique Simon and Persia in action.

This story feature is well-directed by Andre Madness (later to make a name for himself graduating to the Adam & Eve label), and features a superb actress, later solid director, Diana DeVoe as the wife of unfaithful Herschel Savage.

The dramatics and hot sex content is well-balanced as Savage (his character name is laughingly "Robert Taylor" when a character actor's moniker from Hollywood's Golden Age would have been more fitting) falls for beauty Lacey, like DeVoe an African-American woman. I liked the fact that John Makita's script makes no distinction between races here, just dealing with people and letting the viewer make the IR connection, thankfully done here in the Black girl/White boy tradition rather than the current Big Black Dick/Little White Chick standard porn content.

As the drama turns into a thriller there's plenty of plot, dialog and characterizations to hold one's interest, and a masked party/orgy permits Madness to include a lengthy roster of top talent from the turn of this century portraying unnamed sex objects: Holly Hollywood, Ann Marie Rios and Aurora Snow. Kaylynn, pre-boobs enhancement, also has a featured role as a hooker in a 3-way with Savage and Lacey, plus NonSex assignments for Nicole London as a lawyer and Ron Jeremy as of all things a psychologist (that's a stretch).

It's refreshing to see an older porn video that takes its content and craftsmanship seriously, and "Disturbed" hits the spot, satisfying in the way legitimate B movies could be back in the '40s or '50s.
