Holy naked clones!
LorenBieg5 February 2018
Rei tightens her noose on Kovacs and forces him to resolve the Bancroft case in a way that deflects blame from her. The result is a Poirot-style resolution followed by a confrontation that only the world of Altered Carbon could produce.

All aspects of this series are at their best in Clash By Night. Poe continues to be one of the most human and surprising characters of the show. Kovacs finally figures out what Rei's objective is. And Ortega comes up against the threat that Rei respresents.

This episode has lots of answers, ties off several threads, but pivots the story in a new direction. The quality is comparably high to the rest of the series. Revelations are rampant. And, the momentum increasing towards the conclusion of the season. We are hooked again!

The End of Bancroft´s Case

Warning: Spoilers
Kovacs learns that his sister was the responsible for the death of the Envoys by the Protectorate. Further, the ghost walker works for her. Rei threatens his friends to force Kovacs to close the Bancroft´s case. He uses a dipper to bring Ava Elliot to help him to convince Bancroft who the guilty is. He keeps Ortega far from him breaking her feelings but she feels that something is wrong. Ortega decides to seek out who the mysterious woman that saved them from Fight Drome and she meets an employee of Pyschlosec to put her in.

"Clash by Night" is a shift in the storyline of "Altered Carbon". Now Kovacs has full pardon and money, but has a new problem, his sister Reileen. The plot is confused since it is hard to understand the complex society of "Altered Carbon", but fortunately there are only two more episodes to finish this season. My vote is seven.

Disappointing fault in the storyine

Warning: Spoilers
OK, let's be clear I absolutely love this series and this episode was great until Ortega discovers Rei's clone storage cell. To be clear, Rei is close to a super warrior who single handedly rescued Kovacs (and by default Ortega) from 20+ varied skilled fighters with assorted weapons, including guns. NB: One of the fighters in this arena had just defeated Kovacs and Ortega. Now Ortega has to face multiple clones of Rei in the confines of a sealed off room, and she manages to kill 6 or 7 of them on her own. Seriously who the hell let this get through a basic script read with a modicum of a reality check. To me it just ruined the entire episode, if not the story itself.
