A moving insightful film

This is a powerful documentary. I felt like I was in that RV on this emotional journey with the cast members who were so courageous sharing their personal struggles and belief systems in a country filled with hate, fear, and guns. I was so proud to watch Jason speak up and fight for our gay community as he put together the rally. The filming and editing was excellent weaving this story together to cross the US and stop along the way to learn about the history of guns and violence in our community. I thought it was a clever idea to bring this cast to a gun range first, so they can understand what makes their power so enticing and why people are so passionate about guns in this country. I found myself questioning my own beliefs and thinking of my own story. The first thing I did after I watched this film was to call my mother and thank her for accepting me when I came out of the closet because as I heard in the film, not everyone is awarded that.

Essential Viewing for 2020!

This documentary is so important in this day and age. It sheds a light on so many issues and is very eye-opening. This movie has a little bit of everything. Its a serious subject but this doc also has very fun and entertaining moments, making it a very well rounded watch. I really loved the format of watching these individuals from the LGBTQIA travel across America. We get a glimpse into each of their lives and how they were affected by the Orlando tragedy. Very well directed and produced , I am looking forward to seeing what this director does next!

Brilliant and Emotional Storytelling

Disarm Hate is a must-see documentary film as it takes you on a journey, both literally and emotionally with 9 diverse LGBTQ+ activists. The director, Julianna Brudek, masterfully tackles some of the most important, sensitive, and controversial topics with delicacy and artfulness.
