Another reviewer said it was like millenials in space and they're not wrong. The actions of the crew were, for the most part, pretty juvenile. Some of the cgi was pretty bad, especially when showing the artifact landing on earth.

Overall though, it was an interesting story and I would like to see where it goes.

The remaining characters are decent ones, although I feel like the love triangle is a little played out.

...why didn't they save the Zekir woman and take her along? As much as I wanted to enjoy and recommend this series, and I did enjoy parts of it, there is a lot of derivative stuff here. Michelle in an earlier episode saving the ship ala Spock in Wrath of Khan but then dissolving into a puddle of bloody goo - her demise was original but nasty. At least the show rid itself of annoying characters as it progressed. Just wish they were smart enough to detect Sasha's alien brain bug sooner and off him earlier. The cast chemistry is starting to gel somewhat, but S2 will need significantly better writing to save this. Katee Sackhoff is watchable as always, but please, please, PLEASE give her more to work with if this renews for S2. I'm rating this a 6/10 or a D+/C- ...appropriate in my view as it seems as if it were written as a college fiction assignment....creative in some ways, derivative in others per above, but highly pretentious.

After 9 painful episodes .. made it to the end. This is far the best of the lot .. Some story, some acting, some suspense. All tho some still very bad bits.

Let's go into a restricted area .. just wear a surgical mask & a cap .. no problem ..

Kill a nasty alien by using the space ship engines..

I have to be honest, the first episode was a little slow. There is a lot of filler, and it feels like they're trying to build complex relationships between the characters very quickly in the whole series.

Saying that, I thought the plot was largely good with a few curve balls thrown in. Liked the spin on when they think they've got there and they're actually 400 lightyears away still.

I don't think it deserves all the hate it is getting and hoping they push on for series 2 now the finally has unveiled some more of what they're all up against.
