Great Look at Low-Budget Filmmaking in NYC

Making Blue Vengeance (2018)

*** 1/2 (out of 4)

This nineteen-minute featurette takes a look at the making of BLUE VENGEANCE but it also does much more than that. The featurette takes a look at low-budget filmmaking back in the day when you shot what you could without permits and just hoped that you didn't get caught. J. Christian Ingvordsen, Bob Gosse, John Weiner, Matthew Howe, Danny Kuchuck and Whitney Ransick are the people interviewed and they certainly have a lot of great stories to tell. I wasn't a huge fan of BLUE VENGEANCE but we get some very good stories about its production and how it was made. The highlight of this featurette is getting to know more about the low-budget filmmaking that was going on during the late 80s and what impact it had on filmmakers as well as the people trying to sell these movies. We really do get some great stories including one dealing with Larry Cohen and his balls in filmmaking.
