Disappointed

Disappointed after the glowing reviews.

Felt like a mix of colourful John Waters and David Lynch weirdness. The supposed message of the importance to be seen, is diluted by the self conscious quirkiness. Tries too hard to be a full length feature, but would have been better as a twenty minute short.

Breathtaking

This was an incredible take on a trans man's journey in the world of acting, acceptance, grief, and newfound love. The camera work was breathtaking and very creative, and I loved how theatre inspired it felt at times. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

A peek into the complicated relationships of queer found family

Beautifully filmed and extremely engaging, Death and Bowling is best compared to a theatrical magical realism production. With inspired cinematography and orchestration, the entire film could have been a paint-by-number plot and it would still be gorgeous. Thankfully, it's unapologetic storytelling lets each performer produce complicated and compelling characters that not only feel very real, but imperfect.

Not only was the storyline and the acting enjoyable- but this film is visually beautiful. Anyone with complicated families will enjoy.
