Great show but one little quibble with this episode
carnes-215 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
We haven't missed an episode of this great show, but I find that the dinner scene at the end of this episode has continued to annoy me. Would the Reagans really pile on Eddie over her very odd prayer? I remember my first dinners with my future in-laws. They bent over backwards to let me know I was welcome. I would have expected the Reagans to do the same. I would have written an awkward silence after which everyone starts passing food and chattering without looking at Eddie, and then she bursts out laughing. Especially because it concerned prayer, I thought the scene particularly ugly.

What's up with the show's treatment of Edi and Jamie's relationship?

Warning: Spoilers
So when Danny's wife (remind me...it's almost 3 am and I'm drawing a blank), when she abruptly passes away and we've left her very alive in season 7 and all of a sudden she's not there in season 8, we somehow managed to get over that. But what I can't get over is this sudden engagement between Edi and Jamie! The show had made it very clear that this inevitable relationship was being taken slow. When we all thought it had reached its climax and they were going to sleep together, they decided not to and put their job before their feelings for each other. Now all of a sudden, without even that first kiss, we find them engaged in season 9. Now to add insult to injury, they have that awkward kiss at the mini-golf where we get a good view of their chins? What's going on here Blue Bloods? Are your writers afraid of on-screen displays of affection? Come to think of it, there hasn't been a lot of kissing or physical intimacy on this show, period. Which I guess is a good thing but at least give us one good kiss, give us something for waiting all these years for these two to get together other than an invisible engagement and an awkward kiss!

Also, on another note, don't know anything about the NYPD but this secret bunker for indispensable NYPD officers...I know this is just a show but if it does actually exist, isn't it confidential? Are we the general public supposed to know about it? Or am I being very gullible right now?

Who hires these people?
bwestbroker24 May 2024
Baez and Garrett are two cast members who shouldn't have ever gone on playing their roles this long. Baez talks like a child..I suspect because no-one is supposed to be better or smarter than Danny. A slow.semi stupid partner allows him to look like the "big" important smart detective whose "secretary" Baez just rides along to keep him company. Garrett's constant temper tantrums make ME want to shoot him..can't imagine any police officers managing to tolerate his petty childish tantrums multiple times each day. Makes me wonder if the issue is not having writers who can actually create tolerable characters or hiring the lowest paid actors like Danny who have to have enough bad actors around them to improve their own delivery. Also have always been astounded that the only child in this family who fits the height range is Erin. Three boys as short as the Reagan boys are is astounding. And toothy short ugly voice Nicki has to have been adopted because she resembles neither good looking parent and certainly would have learned how to moderate her voice.

Erin and Jamie; ¿Are your promotions too big for you?
lurubio-6774424 August 2020
The arguments run out for the writers, Erin and Abetemarco again caught? I seemed to see it in other episodes but this has already happened, neither one can be understood and the other ignored it, this will be very repetitive in other episodes.

Can't Jamie live without Edith on another PCT? The public would not like that the future Reagan couple are separated and this leads to Eddie looking for another love and even more Jamie is not the same patrolling with Eddie, than being his boss.
