Colorful, Rhtyhmic and Slightly Insane

For the life of me, I could never understand why such a violent could become a dancing and electrifying hit but it sure was, maybe it's not the lyrical content but it's amazing sonorous vibration that affected listeners more. Yet "Duel" video also follows some violent intentions though not exactly as in the song. An insanely colorful experience that looks and feels dangerous yet with some affecting humor.

When the band is not performing on this gigantic scenario which makes them feel very small with references to Salvador Dalí, there's another story of a couple going on a romantic date that feels tense for a while until gets worse when they are drugged by a mysterious female waiter. What? Yep, than it gets a little more violent. The female lead singer even goes through a nightmarish state dealing with some childhood traumas. But all I kept wondering was why they are kidnapped anyway? What was the actual purpose?

If not interested in the story or the visuals, what attracts the most is Propaganda's song, which is incredibly awesome and though it's violent in nature it's actually about the pain that goes through love relationships; but what gets me the most is how exciting and energic the instrumental is (listen to the extended version, it's even better). I guess we could say this was one of the epitome of the 1980's in visual terms and how clips were done in the 1980's: colorful, bigger, brighter, with some artistic references if possible and full of energy. 8/10.
