Subversion of Expectations
discussing-trek25 September 2020
On the whole, these episodes keep getting better and better. What I loved about this episode in particular is the subversion of expectations. If we were to go by any of the Trek trial scenes of times past, this would definitely fit the bill, and in that aspect, it played on our thoughts and expectations in the perfect way. This is the second episode in a row where we've effectively been "tricked", and I'm here for it. I wouldn't want this type of episode all the time, but it definitely is something they can pull out of the playbook from time to time.

Also, most of the Trek references worked well. Where there too many about intricate details that Boimler shouldn't know about, yes. But when done right, they are quite beautifully nostalgic.

The continued character development has been great to see as well. In many ways the mystery of Rutherford was the most interesting thing of the episode. Is he Starfleets secret weapon? Tendi is adorable as usual, while Mariner is becoming less nonchalant and beginning to move toward what I expect from a Starfleet crew member. Well, and Boimler is, Boimler.

Lastly, it's almost like the guy presiding over the "party" was the surrogate to the audience that has been watching the show. Even he can't believe some of the antics that these officers have been involved with. He even comments about how that's not what Starfleet is all about or the principles they adhere to. In the end, it seems the episode can be interpreted as maybe you the viewer have been holding Starfleet as a concept in too high of a regard. The difference between the Enterprise and the Cerritos is real; now it's up to us to realize that.

It's a party!!
WKYanks25 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed Kurtwood Smith and John de Lancie in this one. This was fun, but I won't rate it quite as high as the last few; I guess I've become accustomed to having part of the show centered on one of our main characters. I liked the twist of this turning into a party at the end. All our leads were in character and Tendi showed once again she can fight! TONS of trek references, and I mean TONS of them! Still enjoyable, just not as high as recent episodes.

All in good fun!

Getting better - at least as a parody
Manuel-Hoerth25 September 2020
I am SLOWLY warming up to the show. I still think it's not really Star Trek and doesn't even hold up when compared to TAS. But as a parody it's not as bad as I feared. This episode in particular makes it obvious that it really should be looked at as a parody and shouldn't be taken too serious. And even though this episode feels completely disjointed and all over the place with no consistent narrative, it's okay if you watch it for the laughs and see it in the vein of Family Guy, which I think is what they where going for in this episode. Also, Q's cameo was nice, even if it was just for a few seconds and felt completely random.

Boring
Internet-Police25 September 2020
This show has no plot, no spark and heart. Its just mindless star trek shout outs and clips put together. The youtube non profit startrek creators are 100x more talented.

How can this show get any worse
homerjsniper25 September 2020
For a show that is supposed to focus on the Lower Deck crew members, we find ourselves watching a show in which the Lower Deck crew members are now Bridge crew and also seem to go on an amazing amount of away missions.

The show just getting worse with each passing episode. It isn't Star Trek, they make references to Star Trek in the hopes that it will satisfy true Star Trek fans. The problem is is that true Star Trek fans hate it. Everything that The Original Series, The Next Generation, Voyager, Deep Space Nine and Enterprise established, is slowly being eroded by this unfunny, woke filled excuse of a show. The sooner this series ends the better as far as I am concerned.

Even YouTubers have stopped reviewing this mess. That says everything.

Warning: Spoilers
The Ceritos has gone on across the Neutral Zone in a secret mission.

The lower decks end up somewhere standing trial and urged to remember what happened.

Only for them to each give a different account to the prosecutor Clar.

Kurtwood Smith who appeared in Star Trek 6, plays Clar. He is definitely channelling Christopher Plummer who played the deranged prosecuting counsel in that movie.

There is a switcheroo although it's very weak. There was no trial, Clar was throwing a party.

They should had gone to Q for a better explanation and that's the truth.

This show is so boring that I had to mute it a few times just to watch the cartoon but without any plot it is just a waste of time. this episode especially is too LOUD and it was BORING to the extreme. Don't waste your time. Just skip it.
