"Every choice you've made... has led to this". This episode was amazing! Everything from the story, the war, the score, the amazing animation quality and that incredible fight at the end. Another amazing part of the Siege of Mandalore. 10/10.

A Defining moment in Star Wars
eaj-943-87490524 April 2020
I cannot stress this enough, Sam Witwer as Maul is one of the greatest things to happen to Star Wars. Maul's dialogue in this episode is so amazing, I could have blindfolded myself and just listen to Maul talk the whole time. So many references to Revenge of the Sith, THE best lightsaber fight this series has ever shown, a spectacular musical score, beautiful animation, and lots of tension. The only thing that would have made this episode better is if Duel of Fates played during the lightsaber battle, but other than that, this is a perfect episode of The Clone Wars.

Warning: Spoilers
The only thing stopping Ahsoka from joining Maul was her faith in Skywalker and the only thing that would've stopped Anakin from turning to the dark side was Ahsoka. Wow what a phenomenal piece of storytelling. The way it is interconnected with Revenge of the Sith is perfect, the action and score was amazing and the lightsaber duel was on a completely other level from the rest of the duels in the show. Sam Witwer absolutely nailed Maul's dialogue. I can't wait for next week where inevitably Order 66 happens and everything falls apart.

Speechless.

This will go down in Star Wars history. What unbelievable story telling we have gotten in these last two episodes. I am in awe of the masterpiece presented to us in this episode. The animation, editing, music, choreographing, and story are all master class and utterly jaw dropping. I'm feel that this is some of the best Star Wars content of all time. I felt everything in this episode and it is without a doubt this best episode in The Clone Wars and I think everyone will agree that Dave Filoni is such a tremendous talent and you can tell he LOVES Star Wars and also the fans. I can't wait to tell people in the future what I felt watching this on my first viewing so they see what good Star Wars is. Please if you read this and haven't watched Clone Wars or season 7 take this review and the hundreds of other reviews of people who think the same as me as a big old recommendation to start or pick back up this work of art. 100/10!

"The Phantom Apprentice"

Warning: Spoilers
First of all, I am a little sad that we didn't get to see the Battle of Coruscant. Second of all, this episode justified why we didn't want or had to see it. This episode was all about leading the audience into what is to come. And we all know what's left to happen. It was such an exciting piece of an amazing series this week, with a lot of truly aw-inspired moments that will make everyone both excited and afraid of the finale a few weeks from now. Maul reminded us why he is one of this show's greatest achievements, having turned him from a cool apprentice to a formidable antagonist. His character arc has been incredibly consistent and he still wants the thing that he can't have, which is to be accepted by Sidious or beating him. The themes throughout the entire episode makes it one of the series' finest, and a great preparation for fans to go through some heartbreaking tragedy come the next two episodes. It would be sad if we didn't get to see some of the other characters, but if it meant to be that Ahsoka is the one leading us into the grand finale of the Republic, I'm more than excited to follow along.

The dramatic irony is strong in this one
seankimaug24 April 2020
Most of the characters really have no clue as to what's to come. It's incredibly frustrating, but in the best way possible. The episode makes you root for the heroes even though you know they are going to lose, and the suspense that builds from that is just delicious.

The animation in this season as a whole has never failed to amaze me, but this episode was on a whole another level. The cinematography is simply fantastic and that duel had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. It's sad to think that there are only two episodes left, but at least the show will go out on a high (albeit undoubtedly tragic) note. I can't wait.

The stress of what's to come...
oscarpayne-9911424 April 2020
Clone Wars continues to give me so many gasp worthy moments as they foreshadow the eventual turning of the clones in Order 66. This was the most I'd gone "Oh my God!" at an episode so far. So many things weaved in to add to the stress of knowing what's going to happen. I'm beyond excited (and afraid) for how things will pan out in the next 2 episodes.

Best episode of the Clone Wars yet

Warning: Spoilers
I said it for the last episode, but this one is even better than all the rest. When Maul reveals Anakin is Sidious's apprentice, I was given goosebumps. There were so many good lines and the fighting between Maul and Ashoka was one of the best in the Clone Wars, if not the best. The ending was perfect as it eluded to the coming storm of Order 66 and the rise of The Empire.

Warning: Spoilers
For two weeks in a row this show has delivered its best episode ever. There is nothing not to like in this episode, from the fights between the clones and mandalorians, to the alignment with Revenge of the Sith, to Maul and Ahsoka's battle...honestly I could go on and on and list every scene of the whole episode.

Seeing how everything is linking in to Revenge of the Sith is completely brilliant, and Maul revealing Anakin's fall to the dark side to Ahsoka brought me goosebumps.

Can't wait for the final two episodes.

Another instant classic episode
kersvers24 April 2020
Once again, we get a look into the world of Maul (voiced by the supurb Sam Witwer) as is revealed how much he knows about the plan of Darth Sidious and, in a "surprise" twist, offers Ahsoka an oppertunity with him in hopes of surviving the events that are about to take place. The duel, which takes up about half of the episode, looks gorgeous, as well as the battle of Mandalore. A perfect follow up for the episode of last week, I cannot wait to see what happens in the two remaining episodes!

Excellence.
alfonsobasket24 April 2020
From the amazingly written monologues by Maul to the action packed sequences, and on top all, one of the best, if not the best, lightsaber fights in the series. This is Clone Wars at its finest. We are well into Episode III and we couldn't be more intrigued by how our main character plays a part in the last events of said movie. Also, and I can not say this enough, the animation is stunningly beautiful. Masterpiece by Dave Filoni and the Studio.

Some of the best Clone Wars I have ever seen!
mmccamish-6507524 April 2020
Despite the rocky start the season got off to we have finally reached the event it has all been leading towards, and its terrific. This episode has the largest spectacle battle we've seen with their new improved animation and it shows. Every thing about the animation was cinematic. Sam Witwer's performance in this episode is one of the greatest I have ever heard in an animated tv show. He perfectly captures the desperation of a man who knows too much. The duel between Maul and Ahsoka is done so well, they used mo-cap for the fight and it is flawless. Maul's fighting style is exactly the way it was in Phantom Menace. In the end the past two episodes have been the best this series has ever had

It was always Anakin.
tmtimmayt27025 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
"The Phantom Apprentice"

Before I watched this episode, I thought the title, The Phantom Apprentice, referred to Maul - but the moment Maul revealed to Ahsoka he and Dooku had essentially been pawns in Sidious' plan I realized it was Anakin the tile referred to. It was always Anakin.

I was in tears at the end. This single episode of Clone Wars is the best Star Wars content ever made. No question. Without a doubt. The moment Maul reveals Sidious' true plan, how he and Dooku were merely pawns in the grand plan, Ahsoka's undying (and heartbreaking) loyalty to Anakin (although he was long gone by then) are some of the most emotionally satisfying moments in the entire Star Wars lore. There. I said it.

The way this episode tied in ROTS was absolutely perfect, and was a great lead in to what we all know is to come. Not showing Anakin at all, knowing Sidious' true intention for him, only makes his downfall all that more powerful and tragic. The series is only going to get darker from here, as we witness Order 66 from Ahsoka's perspective. And. I. Can't. Wait.

Just..wow

Warning: Spoilers
I cannot express how amazing this episode was. Everything, down to the score, animation, and voice acting was stellar.

Maul was the center piece in this episode and he deserved it. The fight scene between him and Ahsoka was one of the most engaging Star Wars fight scenes I've ever seen. I heard they motion captured it with the original Maul actor. If that's true, it really shows how amazing they blended those two mediums together to create a flawless fight scene.

Although we all know how it will all end, you can't help but wish it wouldn't turn on the way it did. They did a fantastic job at getting us to hope. When Obi Wan talked to Ahsoka about his mission and then Anakin's mission, I literally yelled at the screen. The dramatic irony..it's definitely there. And I LOVE it.

I'm not gonna lie, I didn't watch any other season besides season 7. I still love this arc so much and I'm looking forward to seeing how they'll merge this with Revenge of the Sith.

I don't know what to say.. If only every episode would be like that.. It looks like a movie!! Fight scene, the story, the characters, every second is great! Plus, knowing that order 66 is coming, it is so exciting. I love that Maul knows and tries to tell ahsoka what's gonna happen, it's huge.. I'd love seeing maul and ahsoka fight the emperor.

Jaw-dropping!

Warning: Spoilers
What an amazing episode, in fact the best one in the Clone Wars. Visuals were amazing, and it really shows how far the Clone Wars animation team has come. The duel between Darth Maul and Ahsoka felt so natural and the dialogue between them is just awesome. As Maul warns Ahsoka of the tragic events that are yet to come, he also tells her that Anakin is just Sidiou's puppet, that will contribute to his mater sith plan. Maul proposes to her to join forces and defeat him. She declines knowing that her Master would never do such thing, but as we all know, Anakin does go on to become the evil Darth Vader. And this, is the beauty of this episode. Darth Maul is right all along and we know it. If Ahsoka had helped Maul, there could have been the possibility of defeating Sidious. That just put more weight to Sidiou's master plan, as that was a step closer to blowing his cover. As for the rest of the episode, it was all awesome! I love how they tie in the events of Revenge of the Sith when Ahsoka and Obi-Wan are having their briefing. The little 1v1 between Saxon and Bo Katan was entertaining and the battle that took place during the duel With Ahsoka and Maul was great.T here really aren't any flaws with this episode, and that's why I give it a 10/10.

You're all going to burn...
bradydanking24 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This isn't a TV series anymore, this is pure cinema. It's as powerful as The Clone Wars has ever been, and the storytelling truly has led to this. Maul and Ashoka's battle may go down as one of the best lightsaber fights in Star Wars history, but doesn't serve itself. It speaks volumes about the chaos to come, as well as Ashoka and Maul's eventual partnership in Rebels. Additionally, it gives some much needed context to Episode III, and genuinely reenforces why Anakin's eventual turn to the dark side only makes sense. The animation is flawless, the score perfect, the story gut-wrenching. This is Star Wars.

Why this isn't at 9.9 is outrageous
umlaziking2 June 2022
This episode was simply perfect, the way it ties up with revenge of the Sith is amazingly done and not only that, the pacing, writing and especially dialogue...oh Lord the dialogue...some of the best I've ever experienced. This episode at 9.8 in my own opinion is simply underrated, let's keep rating it so that it finally gets back to the spot it fully deserves.
