Nosferatu (1922)
Excellent! Positively Negative!
14 February 2000
Even though this film was made in 1922, it still excels over all of the vampire flicks to date! The cinematography was absolutely terrifying and brilliant! Nosferatu is the only Vampire I have seen who is astonishingly creepy! The film quality may be very grainy and aged, but it only makes the movie even more mystifying. And the organ music makes the movie even more macabre. I just bought the re-issue of Nosferatu, and instead of the organ music shivering your spine, the music is done by none other than Type O Negative! It may not be the same as the classic organ music, but Type O is a very gothic and Vampiric band. I personally think it adds a lot of emotion to it, and it fits the movie like a glove. That was a great idea to re-release a classic bone chiller from 1922, and add a gothic 90's twist to it. And if you're not a fan of Type O Negative, you can still see it with the original music. So check it out, I guarantee you'll love it, Danimal never lies...

Nowhere (1997)
Gregg Araki delivers again!
28 July 1999
Followed up from The Doom Generation (but not the same story line), this movie is also made up of the bizarre qualities just like The Doom Generation. With an aimless plot, this is one movie that you can't stop watching. It represents what's going on in the world with today's youth. Things just aren't what they used to be. It's a messed up world out there, and this movie captures it best.

Awesome movie
28 July 1999
I rented this movie recently, just because it had Steve Buscemi. I never heard of it, so I assumed it was just a no-name flop. But I watched it and it was much more than I expected. If I wouldn't have known better, I would think it was an Ethan and Joel Coen movie. But it's really a movie by the producer of "Seinfeld". It was entertaining from beginning to end. I give it four stars out of five.

I take that back...
28 July 1999
I take back my comment. I've watched the Doom Generation several more times, and every time I watch it, the more I like it. So ignore my previous comment. I love this movie because of it's bizarre qualities and hidden background messages, that are sometimes movie references. Gregg Araki has a very unique style of film-making, very original. Overall, it's an excellent movie that really stands out.

Clerks (1994)
Clever, witty, and most of all, FUNNY!
4 March 1999
This film has got to be the best comedy ever made! The director and writer Kevin Smith is a very talented film-maker! Also known as the first of the Jay and Silent Bob movies, this film takes the witty conversations of everyday life and puts in front of a camera! I relate to the movie's dialog! I have those kinds of crazy conversations everyday, sometimes even more outragous than the film! I myself am writing a script that I will turn into a movie or show on my local cable access. I heard that Kevin Smith sold his comic book collection and borrowed money from friends and relatives just to make this movie which was filmed in the store that he was currently working in! I'm telling you, if you want to see a masterpiece of a comedy, THEN THIS IS A MUST SEE!!!

The Evil Dead (1981)
This is a true horror movie
4 March 1999
Take a good look at The Evil Dead, it is the most horrifying and gruesome movie ever!!! I never heard about it until last summer when me and a friend rented it late on a Friday night. We were expecting to see an average, cheesy, waste-of-money, eighties horror movie, but when we watched it, we discovered that it was quite possibly the best horror movie ever made (well, tied with Halloween and Phantasm). This movie will shake your nerves and rattle your bones!!!

Totally messed up and twisted flick
3 March 1999
Well, after I heard about this film on the Howard Stern show, I went out and rented. The film was in the comedy section, but did it belong there? HELL NO!!! This movie was very demented! It has Rose McGowan who has been in "Scream", "Phantoms" and "Jawbreaker". The rest of the actors are hardly known of (except for the surprise cameos). The scene with the Quickiemart clerk was horridly disgusting. Well, I heard that there was a scene very similar that happened to the character of Dante in "Clerks", but it was cut footage. Besides, I don't think it could have been anywhere near as violent as the Doom Generation scene, because Kevin Smith isn't a twisted maniac like Gregg Araki!

A movie that makes you think...
17 December 1998
Just imagine what it would be like if you went to war and lost your arms, legs, sight, speech, and hearing. There would be no point in living, it would be hell. That's what happened to this young man in this movie. He couldn't even tell if he was alive or dead or dreaming or remembering. My favorite band Metallica wrote a song and made a video called "One". It was all about the movie and what happened to this poor young man. The video contains many clips from the movie. Get the Video "2 of One" to see it.

Urban Legend (1998)
Horror? Not even close!
30 September 1998
Okay, let me ask you this, WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO TRUE HORROR?!!! It was simply replaced by today's, so called, horror movies like Scream, and I Know What you did last summer. They hire teens that are from Dawson's Creek and on the covers of teenage girl magazines so the kids will cough up their money to see the movies. So why do these new movies ALWAYS have to take place at a college or have to do with teens?!!! All of this puts true horror to shame. These movies, which people think are "scary", are lame, and utterly tame compared to true horror movies like "The Evil Dead", "Phantasm", "Halloween", and "Night of the Living Dead". Now these movies are the true terrifiers. As Far as "Urban Legend" Goes, IT DOESN'T COME CLOSE!!!

Phantasm (1979)
Excellent Film
5 September 1998
I think this film is excellent and it doesn't get the attention it deserves. This film gives you that weird feeling whenever you go to a cemetery or when you see a hurse drive by. When I first saw it, I was all alone in my house that's just a few blocks away from a cemetery. After I saw it, I didn 't want to look out my window because I was afraid that The Tall Man would be right there (hey, I was just a kid). I give this film three thumbs up (if I had a third thumb).

Real Men (1987)
10/10
Great film
4 September 1998
Real Men is a great movie! It seems like nobody really likes it, but it's a cult classic to me and all of my friends. It is really a hilarious film because John Ritter is such a wimp and James Belushi is a pro CIA agent. John Ritter then gets self confidence when he is convinced that he won a back ally confrontation with renegade CIA agent clowns. People may find it unusual that this is one of my all time favorite films, but when people see it, they enjoy it just as much as I do. It's a very likeable film that nobody could hate. Check it out and see why.
