The Hunt (II) (2020)
9/10
After reading all the low ratings
29 January 2024
I watched this movie twice in two nights and I enjoyed it both times. It makes fun of both sides of the political divide with equal comedy relief. My favorite line is, "You got the wrong Christie."

I read several of the positive reviews and I agree with them hence my rating of 9. One part of the movie gives you a hint of the Hunger Games, but then it completely changes from there. Lots of action, suspense with little to no slow scenes. And the ending is great. They even through in Ehthan Suplee who plays Randy Hickey in "My Name is Earl" for good measure.

After reading all the low ratings I have a feeling people giving these low ratings are form a certain side of the political divide and hate this movie. But as we all know the people from that side of the divide just don't have any sense of humor.

Anzio (1968)
3/10
Disappointing
24 November 2023
I kinda felt sorry for the famous named actors like Robert Mitchum and Peter Falk for being in something as bad as this movie. I rate the movie Midway 2019 as a 9, but Anzio I can only give it a 3. Patton invaded South Africa with 35,000 troops and went all the way to Sicily pushing the German Army out of Africa and Sicily. But of course we all know the story of how Patton was sidelined for slapping two soldiers with battle fatigue or what is known today as. PTSD. That was unfortunate for the army that had to carry on without Patton. I feel if Patton had been there for the invasion of Italy the causality figures would have been much lower. The event of the timid General in the movie Anzio did allow the Germans to fortify their positions and bring in reinforcements. Patton knew this better then any other General on both sides of the war. Another added bonus was that Patton was the most well known General and the most feared General by the German Army. Patton believed in keeping the enemy on the run and never allowing them to stop and dig in or bring up more reinforcements.

The Rising (2022)
5/10
Started out really good
18 August 2022
After reading some of the other reviews I have to agree with them. In the first few episodes The Rising kept me watching, but by the fifth episode it started to get a bit to tiresome to watch and I started to lose interest.

Ghosts (2021– )
9/10
So what its very funny
7 July 2022
So what if there had been a previous British version of Ghosts, never seen it and maybe one day I will. But for now I am really enjoying this, very funny. My brother is recovering from a massive stroke and is paralyzed on his left side and I am his caregiver. We have the whole first season of Ghosts and have never watched it before. We laugh our behinds off and it takes away so much of the pain he is enduring through recovery. I am not sure any other television show would be so enjoyable that my brother could laugh even through his pain. I gave it nine stars for that reason.

I want my hour and a half back.
25 June 2022
The only thing you will be missing after watching this movie is the last hour and half of your life. Don't waste your time, it is indescribably bad, really bad.

Invasion (2021–2024)

What ever happened to Sam Neill
15 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
What ever happened to Sam Neill. He was in the first two episodes. After he went out into the corn field to investigate the strange depression, something happened to him and it cut out away before I seen what actually happened. For the rest of the episodes poor old Sam was totally forgotten.

I generously gave Invasion 2021 a 3 star rating. There were some good parts but for the most all that happened was the story line dragged on and on with so much drama that at times I just skipped ahead instead of suffering through it. There are so many sifi shows about aliens form another world invading earth going all the way back to the radio version of War of the Worlds. Having said all that I would think that the writers of a new show like Invasion would build on that and come up with their own really good story line, but that did not happen. Instead very little was seen of the aliens and more drama then was necessary.

Let Me In (I) (2010)

Never of the original Swedish film of Let Me In
25 November 2021
When I first watched "Let Me In", I didn't have a clue. While I didn't know what to expect, I did know Chloe Moretz was a vampire. This was a really good movie, its gritty with no holds barred scenes. The tension is at the right pace, with a few twists that had me guessing. At times I wanted to root for Abby, then at other times I felt she needed to be put down. But hey she is a vampire. Chloe Moretz did a great job.

I recommend the movie. I enjoyed watching it and will watch again in the future.

Female Version of The Punshier
2 June 2021
This is a theme we have all seen before, but Jennifer Garner does a great job. I felt her pain from the start and the movie moves from scene one. The action and fighting scenes is second to none. I have watched this movie at least three times and enjoyed it over and over again. I will watch it again and again. Now one of my go to movies. Get some popcorn, set back and enjoy, you will not be disappointed.

For pure entertainment the movie is top notch
8 January 2021
I read several of the bad reviews. Come on everyone you don't watch a movie like this one to nit pick at the writing, acting, or story line. That's not what we came here for, we came to be entertained. We came to set back with a bowel of popcorn and enjoy a movie, pure and simple.

Reality doesn't have to make sense, fiction does, this show is a sham
11 December 2020
I am an avid chess player, not very good at it but still enjoy playing. When I watched the first episode, I was under the impression that this was a story about a true person and it is only fiction. I was very disappointed to find that out which took all the luster away form the show for me. I tried watching a second episode, but just didn't set well with me.

The female character should be a story about the real female person that did actually exist. "World women's chess champion Vera Menchik died in 1944 at the age of 38 during a German V2 bombing raid on the city of London. Her sister Olga also died from the bombing raid." This would have made a much better series than using a fictional person.

But instead Hollywood as created a female version of Bobby Fisher, and that is just stupid.

No Ordinary Family (2010–2011)
10/10
No Ordinary Family is a great show that deserved to be continued.
12 October 2020
I am watching this old TV show for the first time.

It is the year 2020 during the Covid-19 virus locked down.

No Ordinary Family was on TV ten years ago now and I just happen to have a copy of it given to me by a friend who says it is a good show, and I agree.

There is a reason why so many shows and movies are just reruns of shows and movies that appeared before, just with different actors. Because too big of a population in the world can not wrap their small brains around something so unique and different to watch as "No Ordinary Family". If it doesn't have Superman, Batman, etc the old comic book characters than these people just can't relate.

Batman's mother and father where murdered violently, these people can relate to that.

Superman's entire world was blown to pieces and he lost everything, these people can relate to that.

One of the most popular shows along this line is The Umbrella Academy where everything is dysfunctional these people can relate to that.

Titans again everyone and everything is dysfunctional, they can relate to that.

But a TV show showing a family that loves each other and works together to make a better world for others to live in, these people cannot relate.

And that is why the show was canceled. No Ordinary Family deserved better.

This is a great show that deserved more than one season.

Written by a bunch of horny environmentalist
14 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The first season was really good, enjoyed it. But the second season went on an environmentalist rant. To much emphasis on sex, and not good story and character development. Too Hollywood writers, when you don't know anything about an industry, then don't write it into your story line. The holes in the plot where wide enough to drive a drill ship through. I quit watching it.

I will be generous and give a 6 rating
17 May 2020
It is the typical horror story where the characters do stupid things. It is entertaining to a point and I only have one episode of this first season to watch. But if doesn't get better after this last episode, then I want be watching the season season.

Reminds me of Lost
4 May 2020
Westworld reminds me of Lost. I like both shows until it started to get weird. I don't mind flash backs, but Westworld takes flash backs to a whole new level. Seems the flashbacks or more to fill up time then really enhancing the story line.

Watching Roswell for the first time
16 September 2019
I have passed up watching Roswell for years now and borrowed the DVD set from my brother. I have been binge watching the show with one episode left. With all the garbage coming out of the entertainment industry these days it is refreshing to step back in time and watch something without all the PC and leftist ideas that we are saturated with today. For that alone I give it high marks, but Roswell stands on its on merits for a great show. The chemistry between the characters was excellent. Brilliant writing and directing, I had tears, laughter and suspense that kept me watching. If I ever wrote a screen play I would sent to Jason Katims.
