I haven't written a review for IMDb in about 3 years, but this movie is criminally underrated right now. This film provides a very grounded and realistic approach to an apocalypse movie, and all terrorist attacks that took place in the film were inspired by real world events. Additionally, the characters in the film make rational decisions that pushes the plot forward in an extremely compelling way.
I really want to touch on the ending as well, because I feel like many people missed the significance of the ending of this movie. The primary message was that it wasn't about the ending, it was about the journey the characters took throughout the film, and what the characters learned about themselves and others. For example, while Julia Robert's character is extremely racist at the beginning of the movie, she overcomes her racial prejudice and is seen holding hands with a black character at the end of the film. Additionally, Farrah Mackenzie's character is so concerned with the ending of Friends that she doesn't cherish the entire series beforehand. The film is about coming together in the face of turmoil, and I see so many people missing this point.
If you haven't seen it already, please go watch this film, it is definitely worth your time.
