Very Entertaining
25 June 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I'm wondering how the rating for this film as of now is low. This is a great film, very adorable about a woman who finds a box, locked inside is her imaginary friend that she hasn't seen in years. He was locked in a box by her parents because he was causing so much trouble. His name is Fred and he causes a lot of trouble for her adult self, even sinking a friend's house boat. This is wonderful and will likely entertain a lot of children.

I saw this when I was younger years ago. The film shows a woman who needs to grow up and let go of Fred. Which gives some sense to the title, "Drop Dead Fred". Leave the woman alone! It's very silly, and unless you're annoying by this type of humor, you will love it.

In reality, Fred was not locked anywhere. It was in her mind, and releasing him only released what she had imagined.. That's what you would think, but how else would he have sunken a house boat and done so many things?

Excellent
25 June 2012
Warning: Spoilers
This is an excellent film that shows the views of Iraqi refugees wondering what their fate will be as the Americans arrive to invade their country. They work on providing a satellite TV for the village, and clear landmines.

The acting was excellent, and the film was made beautifully for a movie released in 2004, a year after the U.S. Invasion of Iraq and the capture of Saddam Hussein. The boy Satellite is a great character. Bossy, and commands a group of other refugee children. This is a movie easily relatable, or comparable to Amercian movies featuring children.

While this movie seemed to show a positive light on the United States invasion of Iraq in some aspects, it's a very great film. It is recommended to show the harsh realities of war and their effect on child refugees.

New respect
25 June 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I thought that Sarah Palin wasn't ready to be President, but I thought that the media was simply being sensationalist. Not that I blame the media a lot. Well, this movie has confirmed it. Sarah Palin was not ready to be Vice President or President. This movie showed that she had mental breakdowns and that she did not know all of her facts. She was, however, the greatest actress in Conservative American politics.

I believe this movie to be fairly accurate. Those involved in the 2008 Presidential Campaign of John Mccain have no reason to ruin their reputations by coming out. What this movie showed was a woman who was hastily chosen to be President, and hardly vetted. I am unsure about the cussing, but it was a Presidential campaign and it is likely that they have cussed, and Sarah Palin did not cuss.

This movie has given me more respect for John Mccain. In 2008, I did not like John Mccain and I thought him to be a liar. Later on, after the election, I saw him to be respectable. This movie has given me and perhaps others more respect for him. If you're looking for a great film to sum up the 2008 election for John Mccain, you will love this. It shows a campaign in disarray after Sarah Palin was chosen as John Mcain's Vice-Presidential running mate that tried to do whatever she wanted. Even until the end when she wanted to give a concession speech. It drove the campaign staff insane.

Action..
21 June 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Really excellent movie. For those that are '80s action film fans and '90s fans, you will love this. Sure, Arnold Schwarzenegger only make a brief cameo.. and I mean really brief. He is in one scene, says a few lines, and leaves and doesn't agree to go on a mission. There's all your favorite action stars that you've grown to love.

What's more to say about the plot? The Expendables are a team hired to do the dirty work, and they are hired to overthrow an entire Latin American nation being influenced by an American millionaire. Barney Ross and Christmas go on alone, and realize it's too much, but before they leave, they set off some huge fireworks. By fireworks, I mean explosions. They return for one reason, a girl. A girl that refused to leave the country even with all the chaos.

It's an action film with several scenes of heartwarming stories. Very brief, this movie is almost entirely action and that's what you've always liked about Sylvester Stallone. In his 60's and still rocking it. Have fun.

The Matrix (1999)

Wake Up And See
5 June 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I've been meaning to watch the Matrix series from beginning to end, instead of various clips of it when someone in my family were watching it. I do not regret spending seven hours watching the series. The first Matrix film is sure to be a hit, especially if you enjoy Anime. Some of the fighting techniques and scenes seem based on the fighting you would see in Japanese animation. 9/10 is this movie. I took off a point for the cheesy "I love you but I'm not going to tell you but I'm going to start a sentence that makes the viewers think I'm about to tell you but I'm not". Maybe it was common in the past, but it's cheesy for my view.

Imagine finding out your whole life was a life. Imagine finding out you were actually in a computer, and that in reality, civilization was destroyed years ago? Imagine trying to fight the machines that destroyed civilization.. a civilization of billions. I just summed up the entire movie.

One irritating plot event that I won't really mark off for was the fact that Neo was pretty quick to getting ready to save Morphius. Maybe it was because he had new information downloaded into his brain, which is another reason this is 9 and not 8 out of 10, but after being inexperienced and untrained, he's pretty quick to risk his life. But it makes for an exciting and action-filled ending..

Cheesy
31 May 2012
Warning: Spoilers
This movie had a lot of potential, but it's cheesiness was ridiculous. The bad story about the man who wants to impress the daughter of a general and gets arrested for stealing a chicken burrito, the World War II veterans, the USS Missouri actually destroying a high tech alien spaceship. Unbelievably ridiculous, and was a disappointment.

When I saw the trailer for this movie, I thought this would be awesome. I was so excited for it to come play in theaters. It looked like a film about a spaceship randomly popping up in the ocean, and destroying cities, and the United States military will come in and save the day. I was wrong.

Something unbelievably stupid beyond belief was the World War II veterans randomly showing up on the USS Missouri when the only battleship within range of an alien spaceship decided to try to use that ship after their ship was destroyed. I smiled when they all appeared and got the ship ready. It was cute. But this destroyed the entire plot. How could the USS Missouri destroy a high tech extraterrestrial space ship? This was cute but I just found it a little infuriating.

Overall, you should watch this movie if you won't mind the cheesiness. Just beware. The trailer is misleading.

Not all that bad.
2 April 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I thought this movie was alright. It wasn't too great, but I didn't find it to be too bad. The werewolf obviously could've needed some touching up here and there, but that was really it. I was kind of surprised to see the bad rating this movie had as of right now when I am typing this.

I enjoyed the little spin on the movie. A regular Red Riding Hood movie would have been nice, but if you wanted a little more adult in the movie, there you go, although you don't really see any traditional "What big eyes you have" except during a dream the main character had, which was pretty much terrible.

I suggest that you go and see the movie, just to check it out. It does try to be similar to Twilight, especially with the werewolves. But for teenagers, I really don't think they would mind too much about the movie's attempt to be like Twilight, and according to another comment, they even snagged the director of the first Twilight movie. That's kind of a win for them.

Documentary
8 December 2010
Warning: Spoilers
I watched this documentary in class today, the day I am typing this review. It was pretty interesting, but it is obviously biased towards Michael Moore's point of view. Thankfully, I agree with him on this film.

This documentary provides you with a load of interesting facts, such as murder numbers, and also an amusing cartoon animation. Unfortunately, this is also a bit dated of a documentary, so that could be a reason why the fact that the Columbine shooters bowled everyday before school was not a fact, which may have ruined the title "Bowling for Columbine". Maybe Michael Moore didn't know.

This film should not be taken too lightly, because there is a very serious point to this. I think you would love it.

Amazing.
8 December 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Amazing! Harry Potter returns with this fantastic new movie based on the book, but unfortunately it's part one. But I guess the benefit is that Harry Potter doesn't end yet. A benefit for the filmmakers too, as they may make more money.

I didn't enjoy the lack of action, though. Since the move preceding this one, I have not seen much action, or fighting. The beginning, there was fighting, but that seemed to be it. It simply seemed to be that the movie was about characters walking around in a forest and hiding. There was a pretty action-backed, and suspenseful and sad scene at the end of the movie, but it wasn't enough.

Ignoring this, I can see why this is an amazing movie, and that is why it deserves such a high rating.

Silly.
8 December 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Ridiculous. That is what I have to say about this movie. If you want to watch a silly movie about an Asian man attached to a female attached to another female to create a weird and strange human centipede, go right ahead.

I knew that this movie was going to be pretty silly, but I still decided to watch it with a friend, and it was pretty funny. It was cheesy, the actors were on and off with their bad acting, and the Asian man was pretty hilarious. I really enjoyed him as a character. This is a mad scientist film, where he turns humans into human centipedes. It's essentially three people with two people stuck together with their mouth to a rear. It's simply silly.

You should know what you're getting into when watching this movie. Hardly scary. In fact, not even scary.

Dramatic
16 October 2010
Warning: Spoilers
The Social Network was a movie that I expected to be very dramatic, and not leave a lot of questions unanswered at the end of the movie. I was slightly wrong. Sure, it did have a lot of drama, but not as much as the trailer portrayed it. Also, this movie was showed as being controversial, for not having shown the true story of how Facebook was founded.

Nevertheless, I saw this movie, and I enjoyed the geekiness of the movie. The character uses a Linux operating system, an old computer from the time the movie is set in, and Livejournal. It wasn't obviously fake, and didn't show some geek typing all the time without ever touching his mouse. I also enjoyed the portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg. He was shown as a fast-talking, smartmouthed brat that was more mature than the other kids. It looked pretty real.

Overall, this movie is pretty great. If you are a parent and are concerned about alcohol and marijuana being in movies, you should stay away from this one. Quite a lot of partying from the characters.

A very interesting film
7 June 2010
Warning: Spoilers
This is an excellent film, that happened to have been shown on TCM. I found it surprising that this movie was completed in 1958, during a time of segregation in the United States. It proved that we could be equal, even if you are chained together.

John and Noah are escaped prisoners who escaped after a prison bus crashed. One is white, and one is black. This pair was made because the warden apparently had a sense of humor. Everyone is looking for them, and they get into many situations trying to benefit from each other, and they eventually get to like each other, even when the chains are off.

This was a very interesting movie, with a shock twist in the ending. Shows that even during a time of segregation, you knew there were people that knew what was right.

Ghostbusters (1984)
10/10
An 80s Classic.
1 January 2010
Warning: Spoilers
The classic, Ghost Busters, which most likely if I've seen it, I simply forgot it. If it wasn't my first time, I saw it "again" quite a while ago, and I have to say I loved it. The movie has never seemed to be so much funnier than I thought it would be, and it was it was silly. Without it's silliness, it would just be some boring drama action movie. This is probably one of the few movies that has a sequel that is only slightly less of a rating than the original on IMDb, and that's why I plan to watch the sequel after reviewing this. Plans don't always go, but let's see.

Three scientists, who worked together in a University are fired and decide to open up their own business. An unusual business, I might add. Ghostbusters. The university didn't like their theories about catching ghosts and their studies, so they say, "screw you" and they're off to become famous celebrities of their art. The police even like them, and they are making some good success. Who doesn't like them? The EPA, and when they shut down the storage of ghosts, something goes wrong to their building, and when one client still hasn't had her problem solved, something goes wrong, too. Two problems collide and the Ghostbusters have to leave jail to the request of the mayor to solve them. How did they get in jail? Find out yourself.

This was a very silly movie, and while some things are too intense to even have this PG rating, which I think they should still change, go ahead and watch. An 80s classic that will blow you away, and maybe make you understand the Ghostbuster parodies you might see on some of your favorite TV shows.

Avatar (2009)

Best Movie Ever Made
31 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This is the best movie I have ever seen.. ever. The Dark Knight can say goodbye. My favorite movie is Avatar, and just in time. 2009 is almost over. Nothing like Avatar to end the year. I was just about to feel very awful at the end under I saw the main character, who's name I still haven't really gotten (I think it's Jack) survive. He's still alive.

An alien world, similar to Earth's prehistoric times. The times of dinosaurs. Giant birds that you have never seen alive, and indegenous people that live their (unlike Earth had as far as we know.) We came there for a rock. Yep, a rock that sells for millions of dollars. If the indegenous don't leave, sucks for them, it's our land. We've created clones of the indegenous peoples that we put our Humans in, and Jack was one of them. He later realizes that we are very wrong, and will go against his race.

Nothing like the giant big army guy boss dying at the end to make this movie feel excellent. I really loved it. There's nothing more I can say, and I doubt that this review will be on the front, but this will really be your best movie, too.

Dick Tracy (1990)
10/10
Amazing Movie
22 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
The earliest memory of Dick Tracy I have is playing a video game of Dick Tracy on the old Nintendo NES, when it was as old as the Nintendo 64 is today, I guess is what I'm trying to say. I didn't really enjoy it. Hell, I hardly knew what Dick Tracy was. Just some random fictional detective that turned into a video game? Well, today, my mother showed me the DVD and I watched it on another opeating system. It was the first DVD I tried on it, hoping for it to work. Well, a test DVD turned out to be a great DVD movie. The bright, colorful scenery and the New-York classic style it gave to us was amazing, and I really loved it.

Dick Tracy is what I would like to call, a modern Sherlock-Holmes. He has the mob running on their knees, he can solve a case in minutes, and he's smart, and with the help of the Kid or Dick Tracy Jr., he was able to continue solving the case of Big Boy, and beat it.

This is a great movie that I hope you'll enjoy.

Probably the best one yet.
22 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know about you, but I truly enjoyed this movie. It actually made me more excited than the previous two. It was very silly, and it was quite a surprise to see Drew Barrymore on the set, but not Jim Carrey seeing how he was on the actual cover of the movie.

After a circus accident, Robin wants revenge for Two-face for killing his whole family, and he happens to stay with Bruce Wayne and break into his bat lair and steals his car. Amazing. He now has to convince Batman or Bruce Wayne to let him join him.. or them. Same people, you know.

I have to say that this is a very underrated film, but then again, I can see how people can hate it. It can be a little bit too silly, the idea of the heroic and epic Batman having a silly sidekick is kind of ridiculous, but who cares? Try it out, check it out.

Ridiculously Awesome
21 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Catwoman, Batman, Penguin Man, all three separate plots that somehow join together to create this very awesome, awesome movie. The effects were much better than the original Batman from 1989 with the Joker, but hey, the sequel can be the better one sometimes. Things were brighter than usual, and hey, look at that, Christopher Walken. What a disturbing looking man, who would have known that he would have been the bad guy? Quite a sarcastic guy, am I? Well, what's the plot? Catwoman emerges from a woman the guy Christopher Walken throws her out the window. Couldn't ever really catch his name. Her name is Selena, though. Apparently, she has 9 lives like a cat, but I'm not really sure that's a joke. Then, there's penguinman whom you're going to hear about in the beginning of the movie. The gloves from the sewer made me think this movie was going to be about Poison Ivy, but it wasn't. He actually runs for mayor. Pretty stupid, but hey, it works.

This is a masterpiece in itself, and you're going to really enjoy it.

Batman (1989)

Aged
21 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I'm the guy who usually sees the original movie after watching the more modern, new release. I saw the Dark Knight, and I decided to watch this movie from the Batman: The Motion Picture Anthology 1989 - 1997. I have to say, this movie was pretty awful at first, but as the movie progressed, I learned to respect it's aging graphics (but still pretty old during their day) and it's Joker, which is very silly. The death of the Joker wasn't much for me. I was hoping to witness a laughing Joker, as he said, it's better to go out with a smile. Well, he didn't go out with a smile. He went out screaming.

The scenes of Gotham were pretty dark, and made thins feel messy throughout the movie, but that's how movies were in 1989 so I will respect that. Batman's actor, who was not fit, not skinny, not overweight, not obese, but in between them all, wasn't really kind of the guy I was hoping to see playing Batman. I was hoping someone of the sort like Adam West. The smirks of Batman in the beginning really bothered me, because I don't really think Batman would smile a little.. even at all, if he was trying to save someone from falling down a building. Very bothersome.

Through all of the aged effects and acting and scenery, I learned to love this movie, and I am ready to watch the next one really soon. You have to admit, the originals will always be better if you watched it first.

Disturbing.
4 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I checked off spoilers just in case, like I do for many of my reviews, or all. But, I don't really know what I can spoil or want to spoil. This might be enough of a spoiler. Don't see this movie alone. Bring your cat in your backpack if you need to. Sleep with your cat at night. This movie is freaky. Especially if your house looks very, very similar to the one in the movie. Unfortunately, my bedroom looked very, very similar to the one in the movie, and when my harddrive enclosure exploded when I came home, I was freaked out.

The plot is simple. Katie and Mika, Mika is the one with the camera, is haunted by a demon. Mika is the one recording it all. This is not like Cloverfield. Trust me. If you are expecting a seizure, go see Cloverfield. You will actually enjoy this one movie.

Modern Adaptation
4 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
So, Halloween has come and I had no choice, or very little, to watch this movie for the first time. Hell, it was parodied on South Park and shown many times on the Simpsons. This movie must be good. Well, I saw the 2004 version seeing how classic movies has a tendency to suck for adolescents such as I. Here's what I thought of this movie.

It was pretty clever. Just had to say that. The moronic security guards at the mall who forces a pregnant Russian woman and her husband to urinate somewhere besides the bathroom, the clever betrayal of one of them, and the man who looks like the guy from My Name is Earl turning good, it's pretty clever. And if you enjoy the occasional humor in a horror movie, knock yourself out with a brick, because there is some in here. Ever wanted to see a zombie that looks like Jay Leno shot? There you go, that's a movie.

Overall, I enjoyed this very much. I can see why many people like this. But perhaps they were talking about the classic version of this movie, which might be very similar. I hope I'll like the other one.

Excellent
4 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
While there were some eye-gouging moments in this movie, they were all part of the plan. This movie has created a subculture of it's own with t-shirts and websites like Nightmare Before Christmas did. If you enjoyed that movie, you surely will enjoy this. Now I will be brief, seeing how I haven't seen this movie since a few weeks ago.

There were some confusing plot holes, such as with the plot. It was difficult to understand what time frame the movie was set in, but ignoring that, we'd find this movie to be pretty enjoyable. I enjoyed the character's teamwork and the clever barriers aka monsters along the way. I disliked the ending very much. Many characters died and they were never returned back to life, making you wonder what is to happen next? Is there room for a sequel?

Up (2009)

Very fun movie.
9 July 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Up is a very hilarious, and adorable 3d movie about an old man who met his future wife in an abandoned house, where they planned to fly around the world and travel like their favorite hero. They eventually grow up, rebuild that abandoned house in where they have met, and the wife tragically dies at an old age. The old man, still lives in that house, even though everywhere around him has been turned into a downtown.. With buildings and such. Everywhere is under construction, except his house because he just doesn't want to leave it.

I'm sorry for my poor description, because it has been a while since I have seen it, but the movie was excellent. It was adorable, funny, and cute. I really disliked how they showed dogs falling to their deaths or very serious injuries. That's not something PETA would like probably, even though it was just a 3d cartoon. There is some minor violence, but otherwise, it's very appropriate for children. Just know what to expect before you see it.

Exciting.
9 July 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I walked out of the Da Vinci Code movie, and we almost walked out of this movie, but I insisted on staying. This movie had many twists and turns, it may seem like it's heading no where, but it's a very exciting movie. I'm sorry, but it's quite difficult for me to describe this movie without giving out a lot of spoilers.

This movie was excellent, though. I really recommend it for the suspense lovers, and those who have seen the Da Vinci code movie. It really will change the way you see the church and The Vatican, knowing that some of the facts, or many of the facts, are based on actual historical events. Watch it.

Excellence
7 July 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was a really sad movie. I don't usually go for these chick flicks, but I decided to watch it over Ice Age. There's a first time for everything I guess. But this movie was excellent, which is why I gave it this rating.

Anna's sister, Kate, has cancer. Anna was born with the same genes as Kate so she can be able to save her. But Anna doesn't want that. In fact, Anna wants out. She cares if Kate dies, but she just doesn't want to give up her kidney for her. But you'll soon find out, it's more of a benefit for Kate than for Anna.

I recommend shutting up during the entire movie, because every scene is too great to break because you want to take out your phone and Tweet. It's just a great movie, and I recommend it.

Hilarious. Short Review.
16 May 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Although, it's been a few weeks since I have seen this movie, and I was hoping that the next review on IMDb that I wrote would be about a great movie, such as Angels and Demons, or Star Trek, too bad, I guess. I'll try my best to remember what went down.

What would happen if you were in the middle of a divorce, your life was going downhill, and you didn't get promoted to a male reproductive organ enlargement company after working there for about 16 years, and suddenly you're turned back into yourself when you were 15 or so in your senior year.. Going to the same school as your son and daughter, and your daughter loves you? In other words, she has a crush on you.. Well.. This is what happened to Mike O'Donnell, played by Zac Efron when he's a teenager and Matthew Perry when he's an adult.

So, not much said, except, this movie was hilarious. It's not what you would expect in High School Musical just because Zac Efron is in this movie. If you want to see Zac Efron cussing, acting like an actual teenager and not what Disney pretends and wishes they were, this is the movie for you. You must watch it, it's hilarious.

Recommended.
