Godzilla (2014)

Godzilla, a beast of a movie.
17 May 2014
Warning: Spoilers
First off when you go in you have to understand that Godzilla has not graced our presence for sixteen years. You have to understand that they have to tell a story to the new generation and upcoming Godzilla fans. When I left the theater I did feel a little dis-appointed, but the more I thought about it the more the plot and screen time of our favorite giant lizard made sense. The movie has to have a good foundation to build off of for hopefully a sequel and new fans to the franchise. The first part was great in my opinion a very nice steady build up, almost an urgency to what we have been anticipating for a while now. I liked the pace and the acting was great. The second act was kind of slow, but the build was worth the wait when Godzilla finally makes his appearance, I was leaning on the edge of my seat staring at awe at the masterpiece of Godzilla, his presence was anything but non-effective. In my opinion the CGI on Godzilla and the MUTOs were spectacular, the pure wake of disaster was what I expected.

The characters to me were okay but not enough to inflict emotion, just out of reach of really caring what happened to them but yet still interested in the outcome. I don't expect a masterpiece of a love story in a Godzilla movie but if you are going to put it in, you need to be able to sell it. As a long time fan I would have been fine with two hours of monster to monster fighting, but I understand the reasoning.

The last half was by far my favorite of the entire movie, you get great action scenes and of course the last ten minutes are of epic proportions. I say this as I took a fellow non-fan and they thought it "pretty f'ing epic", words of theirs not mine.

All I can say is give it a chance and go see it, very great look and my hat is off to Edwards, I think he did a splendid job at giving our favorite lizard a great debut in this reboot.

You know what I really like this...
11 December 2009
I really don't know what everybody was expecting when they went to see this movie. I expected a good date movie and a fun watch. Instead I got a light hearted movie about a woman who is like the rest of us, normal in our own world but crazy to everybody else.

I really enjoyed this movie, I thought the acting was good and the plot was decent. It is a very enjoyable watch and if it is one I would advise you to see it. It has a very good core value to it. That one person kinda different or not can make a change in one persons life. I have a friend who is like this and it makes me only appreciate her personality even more, I like her the way she is..

Don't listen to everybody else, see this movie yourself, and give it a chance. You might like it.

Xena: Warrior Princess: Sacrifice II (1998)

Cliffhanger!!
3 September 2009
Warning: Spoilers
So we start this episode off with Hope coming out of her cocoon. To our surprise she is the identical twin of Gabrielle. I think that Renee O'Connor did marvelous job at portraying a villain, very convincing. We are surprised to find out that Callisto has tired of Hope and Ares attitudes and decides she is going to team up with Xena. In this episode their is a conversation between Hope and Gabrielle that I found quite fascinating. I can't say I was surprised by Gabrielle's choice between a friend and a child. We also see how much Xena does mean to Gabrielle and it is devastating to Xena. It is an intense episode and I have to say one of my top five. If you get the chance to watch this episode, you should.

Extraordinary!!
20 August 2009
I for one loved this movie. Many have concerns about the accurately portrayal of history in this movie, I would like to note to those that is based on a GRAPHIC COMIC. It has a good plot in which I could not find any plot holes. It has in your face action and very original with the photography. I have never seen a movie shot in that type and loved the effect and mood it put on the movie. I think it was very well casted and it is one of my top action movies. You have good character build just enough to accept the fate, and that they accept it. They set out to complete a mission and get a point across and it is.If you are looking for high action and epic fights then this is need watch.

Original In Its Own Way
20 August 2009
I personally thought this was a very intense and in your face movie. In today's society we find that many directors will walk that fine line between cliché and original. We all know that the rape revenge genre is not something that is new. I found this film to be very original in its own way. Gillian Anderson proves herself yet again to be a superb actress that not only can bring you into the story line, but also let you into the feelings that her character is. I am glad that the director took the opportunity to make this film gritty and yet very realistic. Everybody has a breaking point, and some act on it, as the couple in this movie did. There were times that I cringed and wanted to turn away but felt compelled to watch as of respect to the characters and the feelings that they so well portrayed. Many complain about the end, I for one think it had a very fitting ending, in which a realization of humanity is shown. Even the merciless can show mercy. If you are at home and see this on I would suggest seeing this.

Xena: Warrior Princess: To Helicon and Back (2001)
Season 6, Episode 15

An outstanding work of art.

Warning: Spoilers
I have to say that this is one of my favorite episodes. We truly do see how far Gabby has come, from the once dreamy farm-girl to the Amazon Queen leading her tribe into the thick of battle. I have to say this episode was quite breathtaking, and for it to have a MM effect to it WOW... Great camera shots and awesome lines. To Helicon and Back is an episode that keeps you on the edge of your seat with compassion and betrayal, it is a side of The Warrior Bard we had never seen up until this aired. I have watched this episode many times and will continue to. They did an outstanding job on capturing the emotional moments of battle and vengeance. Well done and great episode, it is the reason why I miss the show so much..
