This happened to me while watching this episode:
18 September 2022
Something funny happened to me while watching this episode, and I think that it is representative of the episode's quality, and worthy to be written as a review:

I paused the episode at half, because I wanted to get a snack. While I was having that snack, I forgot that I was watching this show.

Then I got excited about re-watching the last episode of House of the Dragon, so I returned to the tv, only to realize that I hadn't finished watching this episode of Rings of Power.

"Ah, this crap wasn't over", I mumbled, as I pressed the "play" button and reluctantly watched the episode to the end.

So, needless to say, the episode is surprisingly boring.

This is a brilliant work of art

I'm so happy I've discovered this gem! It's one of the most beautiful things I've ever watched. I think I'm going to watch it again and again. I'm surprised not so many people know about it. It's amazing!

Game of Thrones: The Bells (2019)
Season 8, Episode 5

The low ratings say more about the fans than about the show.
13 May 2019
Somehow, along the way, this show has accumulated so many fans that now most of them seem to have forgotten what they've been watching all along.

This is not, and never has been a "good vs evil" kind of show. And it has always had outcomes as far away from "cliche" as possible. Even though the world depicted is a fantasy world, the very thing that made this story special was the brute, reality-driven outcomes. These characters have real human traits - they are not flat characters like we are used to see in high fantasy stories such as LOTR.

Yet somehow, most of the fans have deluded themselves into thinking this story will end according to their own cliche-infested paradigm.

Fans think they "deserve" certain things from the show. They think the story "is supposed" to go a certain way. Well, if GoT has taught us anything since season 1, it is that there are no rules in this universe. You cannot and should not create expectations - the actual story will disappoint you if you do.

Personally I think that social media, fan theories and the popularity that the show has gained over the years, are the things that are spoiling this show for most of the fans.

Game of Thrones: The Last of the Starks (2019)

The only bad thing about this show is the horde of whiners
6 May 2019
Remember the first seasons of the show? That time when we used to let ourselves be surprised by it, without any expectations or theories? It was so much more enjoyable. Well, since then, the show has not changed much, but the viewers' attitude towards it sure did!

Now everyone thinks they know best how the story is supposed to go, who deserves to be the hero and who to die and when and how. And if the story doesn't fit their narrow idea about how everything is "supposed" to happen, they hate it... it's such a shame, because this is one of the best shows that we've ever had.

This episode was amazing. As were all, so far. If you want to enjoy this show like you used to, my advice is to stop listening to the haters until the show is over. They really do know how to pick every detail apart to make it seem like a bad show. If they can't enjoy it, that does not mean you shouldn't.

Titanic Waltz (1965)

A good laugh!
16 October 2013
Of all the "Titanic Vals" adaptations, this one is my favourite.

Even though it's older than the one with Dem Rădulescu, and the video quality is a bit lower (black and white etc..), it is very well done. Even from the beginning, when the characters are being presented, the movie shows a lot of originality.

The cast is very well chosen. The humble role of Spirache Necșulescu is exceptionally well portrayed by Birlic, with his big, puppy-eyed expression. All the scenes containing Chiriachița and Dacia (the mother-in-law and the wife) are so funny, I had to watch them hundreds of times and they still managed to make me laugh out loud.

The movie deserves a 10!

Brilliant

This show is a true work of art...

The story, the acting, the drama, the irony, the poetic moments, the subtleties, the way it is directed... Everything! It's very hard to find flaws in a show like this, when all these elements unite in a single, beautiful masterpiece.

If you haven't watched it yet, watch it! You will laugh, you will cry, you will enjoy a story full of surprising twists, meaningful subtleties, suspense, drama, tragedy, poetry, and a brilliant ending, with absolutely no loose ends.

This show must be watched and re-watched. It undoubtedly deserves the ranking 10.

Brilliant movie
13 June 2013
I remember I saw this movie when I was little and I liked it a lot. However, now I was convinced the reason I had liked it so much was the excitement and curiosity it had stirred in me while watching it, and I didn't expect it to be so meaningful as I discovered it to be when re- watching it now, after approx. 12 years since I saw it.

This movie is building up on existential questions we all have asked ourselves at one point or another in our lives: Are we alone in this Universe? Is there a God? What is the purpose of our life? etc). As the movie progresses, the feeling of getting closer to answering those questions is getting stronger and stronger, until it reaches it's climax: the part where you'll find yourself just observing, full of curiosity and excitement. The ending has its own unique way of answering those questions.

Given the fact that it tackles such controversial, hard, essential questions and problems, one would expect this movie to collapse in an annoying unsatisfying feeling at the end. Well, it doesn't.

This movie is a true work of art. Brilliant!

Game of Thrones (2011–2019)

Best TV Series I have ever seen.
9 June 2013
This show is so good, it made me watch its first two seasons for five times until now. Each time I discovered new, more subtle details, which gave the story even more meaning. I have never been so hooked up to a show.

The story is extremely captivating. There are a lot of subplots, more or less interconnected to each other, each having its own characteristic "color". One can tell immediately that it is based on a good book.

The characters are complex. A good versus evil split between them is hard to draw, since you can easily relate to them through different situations. This is very pleasantly surprising, given the fact that the show depicts a fantasy world, which would automatically lead to the good/evil split like in so many fantasy worlds (e.g. Lord Of The Rings, Harry Potter, Chronicles Of Narnia...). But not this show. Here you can see a fantasy world which is closer to the real one, where people act as driven by different reasons, beliefs or desires.

The plot is often breathtaking, and the show is filled with shocking events, which make you question you expectations a lot. The drama is so good, there were a couple of big moments throughout the show where the major goosebumps I experienced were accompanied by trembling hands and wet eyes.

If you haven't watched this show yet, you don't know what you're missing!
